Taeyeong didn't go to temple nearly as consistently as her older brother did, but it was the most convenient chance to see him, and since the coming out incident earlier in the year, she'd been trying to show up more regularly. She wanted to be visibly supported, and it was the easiest way to get caught in pictures with her brother without being a little too crowded by fans.
It was already warm for mid-May, and Taeyeong didn't really want to spend an hour and a half in a stuffy room being mostly quiet. She knew that it was important to Taehoon, and he and Thomas and Tai all seemed to gain a sort of peace out of it that she'd never really connected to the same way. She mostly came for the social time after and the little market around the temple and the chance to talk to her brother, hed been busy recently with a Yuseong comeback and his duet debut with Josh around the corner. And with the interest pieces and interviews that he was still getting after the coming out incident.
Her bus got her there early, so she went to the little cafe across the intersection from the temple, got a cold drink, and settled herself to wait at an outside table in the shade.

"Alright, I'll be at the cafe, please make sure to come right after temple." Misuk said, bidding Taijia, Thomas, and Taehoon farewell. Thomas had warned her she'd probably be given some managerial duties, but she hadn't expected it to happen so quickly. Today, especially, it seemed like everyone in the company was going to somewhere different, and they really had to summon the forces of the entire company to make it work. Even still, her and Thomas were sharing a car for today.
She went to the cafe and ordered an iced americano for herself, looking around, she noticed someone that looked familiar at one of the outside tables. She was pretty sure she had seen her in Taehoon's posts, mostly. His sister was prettier in person, though. Her drink came out and she went over to that table, "I'm sorry to bother you, but aren't you Yeo Taeyeong? I'm Kim Misuk, the PR person for your brother's company." She tried to keep it vague in case she was wrong, but she was pretty sure she was correct.

Taeyeong watched as the young woman who approached the temple walking with her brother and Thomas and Tai peeled off towards the coffee shop. She was pretty sure it was the newer manager, Misuk, who was doing PR. She had no clue why Misuk would be there, but she messaged her brother quickly, "Are you guys just leaving your PR manager to wait at the cafe?"
Taehoon replied, "She suggested waiting there, Tai and I both had schedules."
Taeyeong noticed Misuk approaching and messaged him, "I'm going to wait out here and talk to her, I'll see you at social time after."
She put away her phone, and smiled as Misuk approached her and said, "You beat me to coming and talking to you, since it appears that my brother is abandoning you for an hour and a half. I was going to join them, but if you'd like to join me I'd rather stay out in the fresh air and get to know you and join them for the social time after. I'd been hoping for a chance to get to meet you properly, Taehoon-oppa has good things to say about you."
Se smiled and gestured at the seat across from her and said, "Please sit, Misuk-ssi."

Misuk visibly relaxed and sat down across from Taeyeong. "Oh good, I was worried for a moment I was wrong." She said with a small laugh. She got a proper look at Taeyeong and tried not to blush, Oh no, she's so pretty. She thought to herself. She stirred her drink absently, "Taehoon-sshi has talked about me?" She asked, a bit surprised. Sure, the statement she created was well-received, but she wondered if he'd talked about her before she joined the company, too.

Taeyeong smiled at her, amused that Misuk seemed a little shy of her. She said, "Oppa has only had good things to say about you, from when you were running a fansite, to once you started working at the company."
She paused for a moment, and then decided it was probably easier in the long run I'd she mentioned it now, "Back in the early days, he was really relieved when you started showing up to fansigns and events because he'd fretted over the kid who called in on that show. It was very sweet."
She smiled, trying to be reassuring and asked, "How has the change over to working with them been? It seems like it must be weird, though I know you were already friends with Thomas."

Misuk froze for a moment before letting out a nervous laugh, "Oh, he's really talked about me..." She felt like screaming and she wasn't sure if was the fangirl in her and that her favorite celebrity has recognized her for so long, or because it was embarrassing to know Taehoon had told that much to his absolutely gorgeous sister. "It has been weird, but I've finally gotten better at code-switching when to use oppa and when to use more formal honorifics for Yuseong." She said, laughing a little, a bit less nervous this time. "It feels like it'd be every fan's dream, though I know for a lot of them the dreaminess of getting to be around your idol so frequently would fade quickly." She smiled and stirred her drink absentmindedly.
"I think it really adds to the charm to get to know them personally. They've been working hard." She paused, "Honestly, I think working with them made me appreciate the other members more..." She hesitated, remembering how Shihyun had been since she joined the company. "Well, most of them. I think mostly I've grown to appreciate Kangwan. He has always been a hard worker, but being in a fandom space with his fans has always been difficult, and naturally, fans begin to resent the idol attached to those fans. He knows this, and it seems like he's been trying to project a more mature image in hopes his fans do the same." She blushed, realizing she'd been rambling. "I'm sorry. I could talk about Yuseong all day if you let me." She told Taeyeong, embarrassed.

Taeyeong could tell that it was awkward, but she could only believe that it would have been more awkward if it had come up months later that she'd known about that. She reached over and patted Misuk's hand on the table gently and said, "Don't worry, he doesn't go around telling people about that in general. Taehoon-oppa and I are very close, and he tells me about things that worry him usually, when he's not keeping every worry too close to his chest. I think that he also reminded me of the connection so that I wouldn't be worried too much about someone who had been a fan first getting so close."
She sighed and said, "You may have noticed that my brother has a tendency to prioritize other people's happiness and needs over his own, but I trust Thomas's judgement, and Josh-oppa's mostly, so I wasn't worried about you on that front."
Taeyeong noticed that "most" when describing her thoughts on Yuseong and said, "It's Shihyun-ssi, isn't it? How much of an ass has he been being behind the scenes? Oppa won't say mean things about him even if he deserves it, and I've not gotten the chance to talk to Josh-oppa without my brother."
She grinned conspiratorially at Misuk and said, "I may not be a fan, like that's my brother's group, but I am deeply curious about the gossip, so consider me a listening ear. I bet it's weird not having the same range of people to talk about things with. Plus, now I know about the all the relationships, so you don't have to obfuscate that. I knew about Kangwan-ie and Thomas for a while. I'd been wondering if things between my brother and Josh-oppa had finally actually happened, but the whole radio show debacle had not really been on my predictions of how Oppa came out to me and what got him to actually tell me about his relationship."
She made a thoughtful face for a second and said, "Do you have my direct contact info? I know Oppa is mostly the one who communicates with me about things, but Josh-oppa and Thomas and Qiwang-di and Kangwan-ie can all contact me, and I feel like perhaps you should be on that list too. Here, give me your phone, I'll put in my contact info."

Misuk relaxed a little, only to tense again when Taeyeong pegged exactly who was causing the most grief among Yuseong. "Uh... yeah..." She began, summoning the courage to tell more. "Taehoon-oppa scolded him for being cold to me, so what I experience with him is just... he keeps a polite distance from me emotionally. But I really get the sense there's more to it than I'm being told that happens behind the scenes. I just hope he's not giving Taehoon-oppa and Josh-oppa too much grief when no one's looking. They're doing okay acting in front of cameras, but some fans have noticed that some distance has been created." She explained, not looking at Taeyeong.
She blushed at the offer to exchange contact information, mostly because Taeyeong was really pretty, and she seemed really nice and caring to boot. She prepped a new contact screen on her phone and gave it to Taeyeong, hoping she didn't notice her hands were shaking slightly.

Taeyeong sighed and said, "For all Shihyun-ssi's everything else nonsense wise, he does listen to my brother. I do think that at least on some level they're genuinely friends, but also Shihyun-ssi can be unkind about certain things, intentionally or otherwise. It's good at least that he's being polite towards you."
She made a mental note to try to corner Josh or Thomas about how Shihyun had been treating people behind the scenes, though it was good to hear Misuk's point of view on it.
Taeyeong smiled as she took the phone from Misuk, quickly entering her contact info and putting a flower emoji after her name in the contact field, not even really thinking about it because it was a play on her name that she had used for ages [note: the yeong in her name means flower/petal]. She handed it back and said, "Do you want to just message me your info or do you want to put it into my phone directly?"
She could tell that Misuk was a little nervous still, but she wasn't entirely sure why. Thinking for a moment, she asked, "So I know your job now, and that you were a fan of Yuseong for a long time, but tell me a little more about yourself? What do you like to do for fun?"

"I can send you a text," Misuk replied, doing so when she got her phone back, with a simple, 'it's Misuk. ^^'
She thought a moment as she tried to think of what else there was about her. She felt like she had spent so long with her personality being "a fan," she didn't know what else there was. "Uh... I guess... I do like reading, and practicing languages. I graduated with an education degree, nothing against it, but it's not really my interest. It was just because my parents wanted me to do it. What I genuinely enjoy is coding and photography, though coding has a steep learning curve." She looked at Taeyeong, "how about you?"

Taeyeong smiled at the text and saved Misuk's contact information. She felt already like Misuk was going to be easier to get clear answers from than anyone else at the company. She suspected it would be good in many ways for them to finally have a female manager in the company.
She listened carefully to Misuk explaining her interests versus her degree. She nodded and replied, "I knew that you were in classes with Thomas, but I'm glad that a job that suits what you really like to do came up, and glad that you were able to step into that role at a time that helped my brother."
She added with a small laugh, "I am a middle school teacher, teaching math. You might know that there's a lot of teachers in my and Taehoon-oppa's family, and because it suited me much more than him, I sort of knew that was what I wanted to do from a really young age. Fortunately, it actually suits me. I get to help kids who might otherwise fall through the cracks educationally like my brother did get academic support, and I just enjoy getting to help the kids learn and grow. Oppa has just as much if not more the temperament of a good teacher than I do, but he struggled with everything in school because of a learning disability that no one figured out until he was an adult, and so I have put a lot of my career work towards that not happening to other kids."
She grinned and added, "But like, I do have a life outside teaching. I like shopping and going to see movies and live music, and maybe sometimes hiking, though that is more a hobby of my best friend's that I was dragged into. Oppa is the athletic sibling."
She tilted her head curiously and asked, "Have you been managing to have a life outside of work OK since you were hired?"

Misuk smiled, "Thank you. It's been a bit stressful because of how I came upon the job, but I've been enjoying it so far."
"My family is also full of teachers. My dad was a principal, my step mom is a teacher at a private school, and my older brother is a university professor." She bit her tongue from saying she wished she could believe her family were as good of teachers to spot and address learning disabilities, but she really couldn't believe it. At most, she would guess maybe her brother encountered Korean language learners. "It's great that you're really working to help the students. I know a lot of learning disabilities fall through the cracks in this country. And I'd like to believe there's at least a handful of teachers who saw a sibling or other loved one struggle and vowed to do better for their students."
She realized she had steered the conversation to a somewhat depressing tone and smiled, "Anyway, I also like shopping and watching movies. And of course, I like concerts." She giggled, "though I haven't been to many others besides Yuseong."
She thought a moment, realizing her work-life balance wasn't exceptional, "It's been a lot of focus on work for a while, but it is calming down now that the news is less prominent. I think that was part of the shock of getting the job, was how intensive it was. I think if another scandal crops up, I'll have some busy days, but I'm managing, and still have like, days off and stuff, even through the craziness."

Taeyeong smiled at Misuk and said, "I'm going to have to steal some of your time to go shopping or go to the movies or something, make sure that I'm staying in the loop with the most recent gossip that my brother isn't telling me. You should definitely make sure that you're getting out and doing things for fun."
She sighed and added, "My closest friend other than Oppa has moved back to our hometown as of a few years ago. I see her regularly, and she's friends with my brother too, though I don't know that they've seen each other in person in ages, probably since last time we were all back in our hometown at the same time. But I'm definitely down my main person to go do things outside of work with."
She chuckled and added, "I mean, I've not been to many concerts other than Oppa's either, but I feel like that's a different experience. My students lose their minds a little bit over the fact that I get tickets to pretty much anything Yuseong that I have time for. Being in the family section means that I've gotten to know Josh-oppa's aunt pretty well. She's awesome, but also slightly intimidating."

Misuk's eyes widened. She had just met Taeyeong, but already the other woman was talking about how they'd spend their time together? She didn't remember the last time she'd made a friend this easy. Though, a part of her ached at the idea of just being friends. Maybe Taeyeong was flirting and she didn't realize? She smiled and nodded, "Okay, but um... just don't be offended if I'm busy that day. I have been pulled in to do manager duties occasionally, like today." She hesitated before adding, "But I'd like that."
She wracked her brain for Joshua's aunt. She had heard about her because Taehoon and Josh were often her models for her fashion brand. "Oh, yeah, I would imagine she's a little intimidating. I've only seen a few clips of her in behind the scenes things, but she seems... well, like you said, awesome but slightly intimidating."

Taeyeong smiled and said, "Don't worry, I have an idea of what your schedule could end up like, if nothing else, I have my brother's to reference off of. You've been being pulled in to work with the JBN girls a lot especially, right? It's probably a relief for the girls to have a woman on the management team now."
Taeyeong thought about Josh's aunt and said, "Eunja-unnie is really nice, but she's also gorgeous and successful and seems very put together, so I'm always a little bit in awe. It took several years of us being the two consistently going to things as family audience members for her to convince me to be less formal with her, but she is really nice."
She hadn't actually had a chance to talk to Josh's aunt since her brother's coming out, but since her brother had been in photoshoots for Eunja's fashion line since, she figured that it had been fine in that direction, not that she would have expected it to be a problem.
Taeyeong was thoughtful for a moment, considering what to ask about to keep the conversation flowing, "I feel like you probably know a decent amount about my family and background just because you know about Oppa, tell me more about you, what would you want a new friend to know? I'm happy to answer things too."
