((Admin Note: The site's location has changed since this thread!!))Minglong had had to go into LA on a day that they weren't normally in classes, so he'd taken the train, and Baian had been left behind alone at their apartment. Minglong had left him with a task though. This was normally the day of the week that Minglong brought a meal to his friend, Remi, who Baian had only ever met in very passing. Minglong had been worried that Remi would be bothered by their usual schedule being broken, and while he'd sent the slightly younger man a text, he'd also asked Baian to bring him some good food.
Baian hadn't minded agreeing. He was honestly kind of curious about Remi. He knew that Minglong had pinned him to the floor the first time the two of them had met, and also that Minglong was fairly protective of his friend. This wasn't too surprising since Minglong was protective of everyone, but he wondered about Remi anyhow.
He'd put together some noodle dishes and wrapped them in a few different carry boxes, before heading over to the hospital. It had been easy enough to find his way to Remi's room, and he'd ducked his head a little bit shyly when he heard the nurses murmuring that he wasn't the usual visitor.
He knocked lightly on Remi's door and hoped that his arrival wouldn't be too weird.

If you keep your eyes closed, it's not there. Remi had been repeating that all morning. He was still in bed, regretfully missing breakfast to avoid having to look at some delusion. His back was turned to it, holding on to childish beliefs like being safe in his blanket and if he couldn't see it, it couldn't see him. His stomach grumbled again, protesting his having missed a meal. He opened his eyes as there was a knock on his door, sitting up in his bed. He sighed in relief that the particular delusion from earlier had indeed disappeared, but there was still whispering going on, making the room a bit louder than it should've been, considering really only Remi was there. He crawled out of bed, belatedly realizing it was a day Minglong was supposed to come. His mind recall there was going to be something different this time, but he had just woken up when Minglong texted him and he'd forgotten since then.
He opened his door, wondering who would knock anyway, and his eyes widened for a moment. "Ah," He said simply, his mind clicking with what the text had said. "You must be Baian, then." He said, turning back and sitting cross-legged at the foot of his bed. "You brought food, right? Come in, please." He said, motioning for Baian to come in with a down-turned hand, very much Korean style. "I didn't eat anything yet today. What'd you bring?"

Baian's voice was slow and deep when he spoke, but he smiled a little bit and said, "Yes, I'm Baian. And you're Remi. XiaoLong asked me to bring you some food, so yes, I have food."
He made his way into the room tentatively, placing the carry bag on the floor near the little table by the bed. He sat in the chair and meticulously unpacked the boxes of food. He continued, "I've got a few types of noodles: spicy noddles with tofu and broccoli, thin noodles with lamb and a mix of veggies, and some chicken and noodles with a sweet bean sauce, um, soy sauce."
He glanced over at Remi, hoping that those would be acceptable offerings. He added, "XiaoLong said that you like a lot of food, but if it's more than you can eat at once, I packed it so it can stay around for a while even if you don't have a place to keep food cool and reheat it."

"As long as it doesn't look suspicious, we're allowed to put food from home in the kitchen." Remi told him simply, eyeing all the food but waiting patiently for Baian to unpack it. Noodles was something that tended to be a bit more filling, so the noodles would last a day, maybe two or three if he didn't miss any more meals. His eyes stayed on the food as he continued talking, his voice casual, as if talking about the weather, "Although I'm not allowed in the kitchen without a bloody orderly. Though I don't know what their presence will do besides irritate me more. Not just knives can be used to hurt someone." He began muttering more and more as his sentence went on, realizing Baian was probably warned about him, but still didn't want to scare away someone close to Minglong so quickly.
Once the dishes were all presented in front of him, he looked slowly to Baian, "Which one is your favorite, among these?" He asked curiously, not sure which one to start with. He was a bit unsure about the spicy one, he liked spicy foods enough, but didn't eat enough Korean food growing up to truly get used to spicy foods. His first experience with (legitimate) Mexican food was an experience, but by this point he'd learned to appreciate Mexican food and find dishes that wouldn't be too spicy. He pointed to the one Baian had mentioned was spicy, "And how spicy is that? I'm from Britain, mate. Their food reputation is only preceded by the bad teeth stereotype or Harry Potter, I'm sure. But the food thing is more legit."

Baian raised an eyebrow at Remi's little monologue, and said, "Ah, yes, XiaoLong told me that I should just sit on you if you tried to punch me. It worked for him making friends with you. I would advise against trying to hurt the orderlies though; they probably wouldn't make it as easy for you to do things that you want to do."
He looked over the food thoughtfully, before replying, voice slow and steady, "I like the spicy noodles best, and so does XiaoLong, but I like all of them, that is why I made them. The lamb is one of the best selling dishes at my family's restaurant, and the chicken is the sort of middle flavor. I am maybe not the best for asking how spicy something is. I once ate a Szechuan pepper whole on a dare and was fine, but I know that Denis and Yongji will eat that one, and they aren't the very best with spices."

Remi's face dropped into a frown, and a groan escaped before he began talking, "They'll just sedate me, probably. That's what they do to all the disruptive crazy people in here." He stated matter-of-factly, though his mother was always telling him they had other ways to calm upset patients. His expression remained, "I really don't need to be sat on again, thanks." He muttered.
His eyes followed Baian's explanations. He'd never actually eaten a meal with Yongji (in fact Yongji mostly avoided him by the end of Remi's high school career), and really wasn't familiar with Denis, to know for sure if their comparisons helped. "Bloody hell, mate. Are you even human?" He asked, a crooked smile finally forming as he raised an eyebrow at Baian. He pointed to the spicy dish, "I guess I'll try that one first, then I won't have to spend the rest of the time wondering if I can even eat it."

Baian smiled a little bit, just a small turn of the corners of his lips and said thoughtfully, "Also, if it is a bit too spicy for you, then you will have the other dishes to cool your mouth after, so that is a good choice most likely."
He opened up the requested dish, holding it out towards Remi along with a pair of chopsticks that had been nestled in the recessed top of the container. He remembered one of the things that Minglong had told him to ask, and he said, "XiaoLong wanted to know how your practicing the sheet music he'd lent you was going."
Baian was curious to see how Remi would react to the food that he'd brought. He knew that Remi had liked most things that Minglong had brought in the past, but they'd generally been a touch more generic, the sorts of things that Minglong was working on learning first.
