It is June 15, the first day of the Audition Camp for Dreams Ent. This day, the trainees that have made it through the international auditions and rolling auditions in Korea will be moving into the dorms for the training camp. They'll also be meeting their trainers, the staff, and (some of) the members of Yuseong.
The dorms look like this:
There are two dorms, one for the female trainees and one for the male trainees, and each has groups of bunk beds and a set of lockers by the entrance. They have been randomly assigned bunk beds, but some trainees might decide to switch around to be close to friends, or get the preferred of an upper or lower bunk. There will be cameras in the dorms at certain times because Dreams Ent is releasing some footage of the training camp, but the trainees will be notified before they come in.
This thread is for trainees moving in to the dorms and meeting each other. There are some common spaces between the boys dorm and the girls dorm, but a lot of the time the male trainees and female trainees will be sort of expected to interact first within their own gender group. (That doesn't mean that they can't make friends with the others.)
[Mod Note: Feel free to make multiple posts in this thread, especially if your characters are interacting with each other.]

Tai had been picked up by Thomas from the airport early that morning, and he'd been excused from a whole week of school because he was going to be abroad, but he'd been able to take his finals early, so he was officially done with sixth grade and had gotten good grades.
It was still morning when Thomas brought him to the Dreams Ent campus and helped him get checked in. It was a little bit strange having Thomas acting as his adult, but at least it was someone he liked and trusted to listen to him. He was surprised that his Uncles had let him fly to Seoul alone, though they'd be arriving in time for the end of the camp to watch the final audition live.
He'd packed everything he thought that he would need into a suitcase and a laptop bag, and he was suddenly feeling nervous. It would have made him a little bit more comfortable to be arriving with Anya, but at least he knew that she would be there.
He was the first to make it to the boys dorm, and he was glad that he'd been assigned a bottom bunk. He carefully hung his clothes in the locker near the door, and then went and made his bed in his bunk and put his stuff that he would want on and near his bed on the neatly made bed.
He hoped that someone else would show up soon, and they wouldn't be too much older or too intimidating. He was used to dancing with people older than him, but sharing a room, especially one with so many bunks, when he knew he was going to be the youngest in the room was a little bit daunting.

Seojin didn't have far to travel from the hotel where her father worked to get to the Dreams Ent headquarters. Her father had filled out all the paperwork for the training camp for her at the office earlier in the week when he'd had free time, but he was working when she had to go check in, so she'd taken the bus all three stops to where the headquarters were.
She'd packed lightly, a suitcase of clothes and personal belongings, mostly practice clothes, but a few nicer things too, since she wasn't sure what exactly she would need. She also had her laptop and the assignments from school that she would need to work on when she had the time. She was glad at least that the training camp coincided with a break. She had a few classmates who were trainees, and she'd heard from them that school during training intensives was the worst.
She checked in and found herself the first to have made it to the girls dorm. She quickly put her stuff away in one of the lockers by the door, figuring that she could get her school work back out if she was still alone when she was done exploring and work on that until there was something more interesting to do.
The person who had checked her in told her that they would get access to the training areas later in the day, and she was looking forward to that quite a bit. It wasn't long before she had her top bunk fully set up, and all of her stuff put away, so she grabbed her laptop and an assignment that she thought that she could get through pretty quickly and plopped down on the floor at the foot of her bunk bed to work on it until others started showing up.

Anya was simultaneously restless and exhausted by the time the plane landed in Korea. She was a bit bummed when she found out her and Taijia would be on different flights, but she'd get to see plenty of him during the training camp, and it wasn't like they'd never been seperated before. Actually, she was most surprised that her parents let Remi come along. Her parents couldn't just up and leave for two weeks (though they had plans to be there for the last weekend and to watch her final performance), but Remi's classes were out for the summer, and they decided it would be a good opportunity for him to. Anya was a little annoyed they wouldn't just let her go alone, but she understood why they wanted her to have an adult chaperone, too. And besides, Remi had been doing pretty good in recent months, so as long as he remembered his medication he'd be fine. They arrived in Seoul while it was still pretty early, and so Remi suggested they find his hasook chib first, and then they could find food and take her to the company.
They got a little lost, but eventually found the guest house. Remi checked in and dropped of his stuff and made sure the room door was locked before they headed back out, Remi taking Anya's bag off her back silently to carry it for her. As they stepped back outside, Remi looked around. "Where did you want to eat for your first meal in Korea?" He asked her.
Anya looked around at what was available. "Hmm... It still early so it looks like a lot of things aren't open yet. Why don't we find the company building and then food? That'll probably waste time." She suggested.
Remi nodded, and they made a pit stop at a 7-11 to pick up bus cards, called T-Money cards, as suggested by the hasook chib owner. Using GPS, they made it to the company building, and looked around at their food options there, deciding on a small Japanese restaurant just down the street.
After eating, Remi stopped her before she went into the building. "Be safe, don't cause too much trouble. If you need me for anything, just message me, okay? I'll call mom and dad later to let them know we made it safely." He told her. Anya nodded, "Don't forget to call them. And telling me to not cause too much trouble? I should say the same for you!" She glared at him for a moment before Remi smiled and she started laughing. They exchanged a hug and she went inside.
As she got through check-in, she was dying to drop off her luggage and go find Taijia, or meet whoever the other female trainees would be. She wondered if she'd be the youngest of the girls. She was nervous and excited to find out, and really hoped she wouldn't be the only female trainee on the younger side of the spectrum.
She put her stuff in the available locker, not bothering yet to unpack it, but pulling out her phone and charging cable. As she got into the dorms, she noticed someone else was already there, but was too distracted trying to find her bunk first. She eventually found it, ending up across the way from the girl anyway. "Hello, my name is Anya." She introduced herself to the girl in Korean.
((a hasook chib is basically like a guesthouse or hostel.))

Felix was very nervous about this. His friends and classmates were all very jealous that he got to miss two weeks of school to "become a KPop star" (despite how many times he told them he was only going for training, not actually debuting), and he was glad his teachers gave him the upcoming schoolwork well in advance so he didn't have any left to do by the time he landed, but he was realizing being prepared and actually doing it were two very different things. He was trying to study more Korean on the airport bus, but his brain wouldn't focus anymore. He'd been traveling for over a day already, and was glad that he'd get a bed to sleep in tonight. As the bus reached his stop, he got off, thanking the driver as his luggage was pulled and then following the directions on the paper sent by the company to get to the building. The directions were a feat in itself to understand, sicne they only came in English and Korean.
Finally, he checked in and went to the dorms, putting his stuff away quickly in a locker before checking out the dorms. He noticed a little kid near a neatly made bed, and he made his way over to him, keeping an eye out for his name on one of the beds. He saw that he was actually going to be on the top bunk, above the kid presumably. He gave the boy a smile, "Hello, my name is Felix. I'm from Argentina." He said, slightly more obviously practiced than he would have liked, and he winced slightly as he realized it. Hopefully he could really improve his Korean being here.

Tai was glad when another kid finally showed up, though the boy looked like he was at least in his mid-teens. Tai reminded himself that he needed to use honorifics for people older than him when he was in Korea as the other boy approached, but as soon as the older boy introduced himself, Tai realized that he spoke very little Korean. He stood up from where he'd been sitting and bowed to Felix with a slight bob of his head.
Since the older boy had introduced himself in Korean, Tai responded in kind, though he had already learned since getting there that his accent basically read as a Korean who had spent a few years in the US to most Koreans. He said, "Hello Felix-hyung, my name is Taijia, but you can call me Tai."
He paused for a second, debating what to say next, but finally, he added in English, "I speak English and Chinese too, if that helps."
He paused for a second longer, thinking back to his school lessons, and added in very slow, thoughtful Spanish, "I also have learned a little bit of Spanish, but I think that you have better Korean."
He smiled tentatively up at the older boy, hoping that he hadn't made the wrong choice by switching around between languages, but he was pretty sure that Felix had sounded a little bit uncertain trying to introduce himself, and Tai figured that he could at least get away with some missteps by being young and apparently cute.

Seojin smiled at the younger girl as she approached. She waved a little bit when Anya introduced herself and tidied away her assignment. At last, there were other people arriving, and she could do something more interesting. She replied in Korean, "Hi, nice to meet you. My name's Seojin."
She tucked the last of her things away and perched on her made bed to see what the younger girl would do and added, "I'm seventeen."
She thought about the accent that Anya had for a moment and added, this time in English, "I speak English too, if you need someone to help translate at some point."
She switched back into Korean and said, "Let me know if you need help with stuff. What position did you mainly audition for?"

"Nice to meet you Seojin." Anya said, giving her another quick bow. "I'm tw-uh, thirteen in Korean age." She paused, looking excited. "Wow! Are you a native Korean? Your English is really good!" She added in English, before switching back to Korean, "It would be nice to have a translator," she began, using the english word for translator as she realized she didn't know it in Korean, "but I also hope to get a lot of practice with my Korean. But I will, thank you! I applied for dancer position. But I hope to also get put in singing," she scrunched up her nose, "I don't think I'd make a very good rapper..."

Felix bowed as Taijia introduced himself, a bit mindboggled that he knew so many languages. "Nice to meet you, Tai." He said simply in Korean, trying to pick his poison in terms of which language to use. He added, still in Korean, "Truthfully, I think my English might be worse than my Korean." He let out a sheepish laugh. Maybe we can teach each other. He thought to himself, and wanted to make the joke but had no idea how to say it in Korean, and the English wasn't coming to him. "How much Spanish do you know?" He asked curiously, not sure if he was using the right words to ask it properly, but hoping Taijia would understand him still.

Tai replied to Felix in carefully enunciated words, "I only speak a little Spanish. I took one year of Spanish in middle school, but I probably will not get to take more, since if I make it through, I will be now going to a school here in Korea. I understand better than I say things."
His Spanish teacher in school had used words like facile when describing his learning of languages though, and he knew that he'd gotten on a lot better than a lot of his classmates. However, he didn't feel confident saying that he really spoke the language. He asked in Korean, "Did that make sense? I'll help you with Korean if you'll help me learn more in Spanish?"
He hoped that it wouldn't seem like a strange offer to the older boy. He asked curiously sticking with simple words in Korean, "What position did you audition for hyung?"

Seojin replied to Anya, "Yeah, I'm native Korean, born and grew up in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do for most of my life, but I spent four years in Davis, California at the end of elementary and for all of middle school, so I learned English mostly then."
She laughed and said, "I'm seventeen international age, eighteen Korean age. I was trying to go in the direction that would be easier for you."
She couldn't help but think that Anya was kind of cute and said, "I think that you'd be more adorable than the average rapper, yeah. I'm a dancer mainly, but vocal's my other position too."
She made sure to watch and see if Anya understood as she was talking, knowing it would be easy enough to talk to her in English if the Korean was getting too much or too confusing. She added, this time in English, "And I can translate for you sometimes if I need to, but I heard that there was going to be an actual translator around at a lot of things."
She asked, "Do you know anyone else who's going to be here for this too?"

"Ah... but you're pretty good..." Felix muttered in his native language. He grinned at Taijia's suggestion, "Yes, that sounds like a deal!" He said in Korean. "Actually, I wanted to suggest that, but couldn't remember uh... 'help' and 'learn,' or how to... um.. words..." He faded off, pushing his hands together as he tried to remember the word, eventually giving up and switching to English. "Put together. Grammar set-up." He finished awkwardly.
"I auditioned as a dancer. It's been my hobby since I was about ten. But before that I was actually a model." He paused a moment, looking to Taijia, "how about you?"

Anya giggled as Seojin agreed with her about the rapping thing, nodding. "Ah... I just like being older." She said with another giggle. "Oh wow! I've never been to California but I heard it's nice!" She began, automatically switching back to English as she ranted. "My family is actually from England, but we moved to the U.S. when I was two. My parents and older brother all kept their accents though," she pouted, "I was the only one young enough to not keep it. Though my brother's accent sometimes fades." She swiched back to Korean. "I would like that. There is a lot of trainees here, and only one translator. Err... What is translator in Korean, anyway?" She asked, letting out a sheepish laugh. She nodded at Seojin's last question, "Yep! My best friend is Taijia, I think he's the youngest trainee at the camp."

Tai grinned, relieved that the older boy had not only agreed with his suggestion but been enthusiastic about it. He added, tone slightly conspiratorial, in slow, simple Korean, like he'd use when talking to Anya, "I have heard that one of the members of Yuseong, the main dancer, Taehoon-sunbaenim, speaks a little bit of Spanish too, but not much more than me at most."
He didn't want to let on right then that he had inside knowledge from what Kangwan had told him about the group over the years, though it wouldn't be too hard for someone to figure out that he was the kid that Kangwan had posted a few dance videos of a few years ago, while Kangwan was in high school in the US. He didn't want people to think that he had favoritism though. But that was stuff that had been talked about in interviews and on variety shows, and Tai could honestly said that he'd watched most of the ones that Kangwan and Yuseong had been on, barring a few that Kangwan had said were too old for him. He'd watched one of those, been confused, and decided that maybe Kangwan actually knew what he was talking about.
He said in Spanish, "Thank you for being willing to help me practice. It is good to know that I won't lose a skill then."
When Felix in turn asked him about what position he had auditioned for, he smiled and replied, "I'm a dancer first. I started taking my first real dance class right after I turned four, so it's been nearly six years, it will be in August. But I auditioned as a vocalist too. And I choreograph and am working on composing."
He waved his hand at where he'd set up his guitar and said, "That's mine, and they said that there would be keyboards, so I didn't bring mine, but I'm looking forward to getting to see the practice rooms."
He thought back for a moment to Kangwan telling him that at his age he would mostly just need potential, and wondering, just for a moment, if Anya was right that he was extremely overprepared, but he enjoyed learning this stuff, and it wasn't like it had negatively impacted his school work, even if he cared about it more. He'd gotten perfect grades for his first year of middle school, and still read a book in each of his native languages a week, and now he was toying with the idea of adding a book in Spanish each week, especially if he actually ended up training with Felix because he was sure it would help.
He hoped that the older boy wouldn't have a weird reaction to how, well, overprepared he was.

Seojin listened to Anya's rambling and smiled a little bit. She told the younger girl when she asked, responding in English, "Translator in Korean is yeogja. But a lot of the time, in entertainment stuff, I've heard them just get called translators anyhow, so people would have known what you meant."
Seojin had followed Dreams Ent as a possible company, and Yuseong as a group, long enough that that name rang a bell. She wasn't sure if she was making the right connection, but she asked, a touch unsure, "Is that the same Taijia who Kangwan-sunbaenim posted a few dance videos of while he was going to school in the US?"
She wasn't sure if Anya would know what she was talking about, or even if she was thinking of the right person, but now she was curious. She remembered that some of her classmates at the time had wondered if the kid that Kangwan had posted was someone Dreams Ent would eventually scout. At the time, she'd been impressed at how good a danced the tiny kid in the couple of short videos was.
