Face Claim: Jihoon Lee
Kangwan is only 5'4" (162 cm) and he was initially upset about that. He weighs a very light, though idol average, 115 lbs (52 kg). His naturally black hair used to be kept at a light pink color, and though he still likes pink hair, he experimented with other styles for a while before deciding to let it be natural for a little while. He has eyes that turn into cute smiles when he smiles. His small frame is often hidden by baggy shirts or fluffy sweaters, though he does prefer skinny jeans to baggy ones. He has a childish, soft voice when speaking, but it seems to instantly change when he's singing, and he's got a very strong singing voice. His voice changing as well as not singing for a couple years forced him to somewhat have to re-learn to sing, but with practice it didn't take him long to get back to his pre-hiatus skill-level.
Personality
Kangwan is super sweet and humble. He easily gets excited, but just as easily can be knocked down. He loves spending time with friends, and he especially likes spending time with Thomas. He also enjoys music in any form - writing, singing, listening, etc.
His dislikes are sleeping, dreaming, plain coffee (it has to be very sweet before he'll like it), acidic food, and alcohol (he's never actually tried it, but he hates the smell).
His secret is his relationship with Thomas. He doesn't want to keep it a secret, but he also knows Korea isn't ready for a gay couple in the KPop Industry.
His aspiration was to return to his band, then go to college, then win an award, all of which he's achieved or is close to achieving, so he's quite content. His next goal is probably to get through military service, which won't happen until he's closer to 30, and settle down with Thomas. He has been open with Taehoon and Joshua that he probably won't re-sign again for Yuseong, but instead will move on to be a producer for Dreams Entertainment, and probably a soloist.

Feelings Toward: Loves him so much. He honestly didn't expect the high school relationship to last so long, but he's not complaining, even if it does make being an idol more difficult. He appreciates Thomas always being someone he can lean on, and misses when they can't see each other for a long time (note: a long time is like, a day, to him).

FORMER BANDMATE
Name: Fang Qiwang
Birth Year: 1997
Occupation: Idol/University Student
Feelings Toward: He had the easiest time getting close to Qiwang since they were very close in age. By the time Qiwang left, they weren't super close, but Kangwan still misses him, and they talk often.
HOOBAE/DONGSAENG/FRIEND
Name: Taijia Lin
Birth Year: 08/01/2008
Occupation: Trainee/Student (10th)
Feelings Towards: Kangwan used to babysit Taijia, and Tai would help him with his homework. Kangwan knew since then the kid was going places. He's feels like an older brother to Tai, and because of that, he's always welcoming and encouraging of things Taijia wants to achieve. He believes strongly that Tai will be great at whatever he wants to achieve.
History
Kangwan was born the second son to a loving, slightly older couple in Seoul, South Korea. His childhood was relatively normal, except he quickly developed an interest in singing and dancing. By the time he was nine, he was scouted for a company, and joined an at-the-time new company called Dreams Entertainment. His father was against it from the beginning, and eventually the fighting between his highly-supportive mother and strict, non-supportive father caused them to get a divorce. Kangwan's father moved to America with his older brother, Kangmin. He struggled a lot during his trainee years, from being teased at school to not being able to keep friends because of his busy schedule, and then in training he was the smallest and slowest at learning dances. At age thirteen, Kangwan was the youngest in a group set to debut. He worked hard, and saw the stage just after his fifteenth birthday. He loved it. Per his mother's request, he kept up with his studies, so he was facing either sleepless nights or at tops one to two hours of sleep, but the idol life was made for someone like him, and he thrived from it.
A year after debut, his mother fell ill. It was hard for him as he was only able to send her money, and didn't really have time to visit her often. His brother moved back to Korea to help care for her. It turned out to be an alright compromise, and Kangwan was able to repair a troubled relationship he held with his brother up until that point.
It was the day of his sixteenth birthday that a severe tragedy struck. A fire had started during the night in a neighboring apartment, and they weren't able to stop it before it hit his mother's apartment. His mother had been too sick, his brother too tired, to hear the alarm when it went off, and they both died of severe burns and smoke inhalation. Kangwan instantly spiraled into a severe depression. His band was worried about him, and after many talks, everyone agreed it would be for the best if Kangwan took a break from the idol life. Although he didn't want to leave, Kangwan's band was more concerned for his mental health than having to lose a member temporarily. Especially after the news had been released to the public, and fans started sending Kangwan sympathy gifts, he broke. Finally, he fully agreed to join his father in the States. At first, they were constantly fighting with each other and disagreeing, but after about a year, their disagreements calmed down slightly, as long as they avoided certain topics. Still, Kangwan was often bitter towards his dad for pretty much everything. Before he returned to Korea, he and his dad had a heart-to-heart and managed to reconcile their differences and made up, though Kangwan still wouldn't consider them close.
It took about a month before he was finally willing to go back to school. Even though he still faced depression on a daily basis, he was determined to finish his mother's wishes of seeing him get a college degree. His father pushed for him to see a psychiatrist for over a year, Kangwan finally submitting to his wishes after a particularly difficult seventeenth birthday.
Over the summer between his sophomore and junior year, Kangwan went back to Korea for a bit to discuss his contract with his CEO. Still wanting to be an idol, Kangwan was adamant about holding on to his contract. At the same time, Kangwan now had a boyfriend in the States, and he didn't want to leave Thomas so soon after they had gotten together. Eventually, he and his CEO came to the agreement that he could finish high school in Washington, and then he'd return to Korea afterwards. Finding out Thomas was thinking of going to college in Korea made the idea a lot easier on Kangwan, and after graduation he happily went back to his home country and rejoined his band, with Thomas joining him in the country later. Although there were a few bumps at first, with Kangwan having to re-acclimate to the idol lifestyle, and also not being able to see Thomas as often, Kangwan has become much happier now that he's back with his band and gets to see his fans.
It's was a bit of shock when the band effectively split up, as even though the group knew Qiwang wasn't going to re-sign, Shihyun hadn't mentioned he was going to leave at all. Kangwan is secretly kind of relieved, but is still sad five-member Yuseong is over. Having been so young at debut, Kangwan feels like the others have grown up and moved on, and he still wants things to stay the same. He loves that Josh and Taehoon stayed, but sometimes feels like a third wheel, and their age gap, even though not as glaringly obvious as it was at debut, is more prominent without Shihyun and Qiwang as buffer. Still, Yuseong is the only family he has left in Korea, and so he's happy to know he still has at least some of his band mates still around.
He slowly resigned himself to the fact that he is also ready to move on, or at least will be in a few years, mostly because then he and Thomas can have more time to spend together, and Kangwan is still trying to decide if, after his military service, he wants to retire from the spotlight completely, move to the U.S. where he and Thomas can get married, and just do producing, or continue as a soloist, and almost certainly not be able to marry Thomas.
