PARK HYUNJAE
1972 | male |
gay (definitely mlm) | CEO of Dreams Entertainment |
Appearance
Face Claim or Description of Character Appearance: Seo Taeji (Seo Taiji)
Personality
Personality:
Fairly easy-going. Founded his company to continue his own career, and because he enjoyed supporting the next generation of idols. He wanted to be a small- to mid-sized company at most. Extremely closeted, and is still wrapping his head around how many of the kids he collected are queer. This was not on purpose, he swears.
Relationships:
Admin & Managerial:
- Jeon Wonjin: Vice President and Main Producer of Dreams Ent. They founded it together. They met when Wonjin was in his early stages of his career as a producer and Hyunjae was nearing the end of his group's active period. They got to be good friends, and Wonjin had a business and production background, and they hatched the idea of Dreams Ent. together. They started it out just living together in a tiny apartment in the building that Dreams Ent. now owns. They have been in a romantic relationship for many years at this point, but it is very secretive.
- Thomas: Thomas really appreciates that the CEOs approach to making sure to be able to keep his and Kangwan's relationship a secret was to hire him instead of trying to separate them. He appreciates that the CEO is willing to listen to a fair amount of bluntness from his juniors. He is always fascinated by watching Taehoon argue with the CEO. He also really appreciated the CEO took his suggestion to hire Misuk. Thomas very much suspects there's something going on between the CEO and VP.
- Misuk: She's really thankful the CEO gave her a chance. She respects him as a CEO, and really appreciates he didn't let the Taehoon situation get swept under the rug OR scandalized.
Yuseong
- Joshua: Josh respects him a lot, and doesn't want to let him down. But he is also a little bit nervous about talking to Hyunjae about anything that can be controversial. He's very relieved about how well the CEO took Taehoon's coming out, and finding out about Josh and Taehoon's relationship. He is starting to have a hunch about the CEO and the VP.
- Taehoon: Taehoon has a history of going in and pulling the argument of "you can fire me, but you can't make me take it back." He has had and won far more arguments with the CEO. The CEO is confused about the break from tradition but usually thinks Taehoon is right.
- Kangwan: Kangwan looks up to him and finds him as a sort of father figure. His respect grew when the CEO was willing to give him the mental health break and work with him to slowly come back to the group.
J.B.N.
- Shieon: She was original wary of him, and then Taehoon's coming out happened and the CEO took it well, so she decided to come out to just the other company people, and the CEO still took it well. Her respect and appreciation for him grew after that situation.
- Seojin: She respects him a lot, including his career prior to Dreams Ent. She thinks he has a good hand at selecting and forming groups. She is somewhat wary of him, but is becoming less so as he handles the queerness of the company well.
- Hayun: He makes her anxious, but she does respect him and is relieved that he handled Shieon's coming out well. His handling of Kangwan's situation made her believe she would be okay in his company.
- Anya: He's fine. She respects him. He kind of vaguely reminds her of her dad.
H.S.S.
- Felix: Felix respects him, but is also nervous around him. He appreciates the CEO was patient with his learning Korean.
- Seoji: Respects him immensely, but is 1000% terrified of him. Really wants the CEO to be proud of him, but also stumbles over his words in front of the CEO half the time.
- Meri: He appreciates that the CEO is willing to work with his mental health conditions, and respects his willingness to work with varying needs among the idols in the company.
- Juryeo: Doesn't have a super strong opinion about him yet, but really appreciates that the CEO supported Taehoon's coming out. Possibly likes him more than his own dad.
- Juyeol: He hasn't had much interaction with the CEO, but Juyeol appreciates how the CEO handled Taehoon's coming out, and also that he just seems like an easy-going guy.
- Taijia: Really appreciates that the CEO has been willing to take his skills and abilities at face value and give him choreography and production credits. He was very relieved about how the CEO handled the Taehoon coming out situation. He's not close to the CEO, but he knows him fairly well and respects him, though Taijia is still struggling with using honorifics correctly with the CEO.
