Now that the reassessments are complete, the next few days are going to be spent on group performances. The trainees are going to split themselves up into groups and choose songs with pre-existing choreography to arrange and learn and then present to the judges. They will have until June 23rd to learn them and polish their performances, so today is mostly focused on making groups and choosing songs.
The groups will be split between boys and girls, and the trainees have been instructed to have an array of skill levels in each group and try to balance their performances because of it. They have also been instructed to have at least some rappers and at least some vocalists in each group (along with at least one dance focused member). The members of Yuseong are likely to be more involved starting at this stage.
How much or how little the trainees decide to do with the song they choose is up to the group. Some groups might decide to just learn a choreography and song as is, and some might completely rearrange something.
There are 12 male trainees and 15 female trainees. The male trainees are being split into 3 groups of 4. The female trainees are being split into 3 groups of 5. Each groups is required to have at least 1 member who is Advanced, 1 who is Intermediate, and 1 who is Beginner in Dance, and they are expected to have at least one each of Advanced, Intermediate, and Beginner in Vocal or Rap. They are also expected to have at least 1 vocalist, at least 1 rapper, and at least 1 dancer. These people can, however, overlap.

Tai hadn't quite been expected to be put on the spot to choose groups to be in. The twelve boy trainees had been instructed to split into three groups of four, each with at least one rapper, at least one vocal, and at least one person who focused in dancing. They'd also been told that they should have at least one person who was in the advanced, intermediate, and beginner training groups.
He realized that suddenly, there were a lot of people looking at him, and he couldn't hide behind Anya for this. He was a vocal and a dancer, and in the advanced group for both, and he'd been helping people in training because they kept asking him, but he was also the youngest person in the room.
He'd been spending a decent amount of time around Felix because Felix had the top bunk to his bottom bunk, and he felt less stressed out by interacting with him than some of the older trainees who were Korean from Korea, where he hadn't quite figured out the tone of formality yet, especially when they were asking him for help, but he was also still supposed to show respect to someone older. He understood the theory, just not the application.
He stepped a little closer to Felix and asked, in slow, clear Korean, "Do you want to be in the same group Felix-hyung?"
He figured that would at least narrow down who could be in the group with them. They would need someone who was an intermediate level dancer and someone who was a beginner level dancer, along with someone who was a beginner level dancer or rapper. They could make that work. He was already starting to try to brainstorm songs or groups that they could do something with considering that skill array.

Seojin knew that she wouldn't have trouble finding a group as the assignment was announced. Of the fifteen girls who had been selected for the camp, she was in the upper half age wise, though there were still several people older than her, and she'd been one of the people who had had others coming to her for dance help all weekend, especially since she'd made it into the advanced group for both dance and vocal and managed to stay there.
She looked around the room considering. Most of the people were grouped into the intermediate group, so that wouldn't be as hard to cover as beginner for a group that she was in, but she definitely wanted to make sure that there was a decent balance covered. The girls groups were groups of five though, unlike the boys, so there was a little bit more flexibility to meet the requirements.
She'd been keeping an eye on Anya a little bit because the younger girl, one of the youngest of the girls there, was a sweet kid and didn't have the best Korean. While there was a translator, he wasn't around all the time, and Seojin had been trying her best to make sure that Anya didn't run into issues in the dorms and among the other trainees. There were a few others who spoke English, but most things were happening in Korean.
She was already standing pretty close to Anya, so she said softly to the younger girl in simple Korean, "Do you want to be in a group together Anya?"

Felix held his breath as he read over the requirements for forming groups, having to read it pretty slowly to make sure he understood it, and also looking up a couple words on his phone. He didn't want to end up in a group of only native Koreans, he felt like he'd get completely lost in translation. Same went for the American trainees, who had often grouped together and spoke English. He breathed a sigh of relief when Taijia asked if he wanted to be a part of his group, nodding quickly, "Yeah, that sounds great." He told the boy. He spoke slowly, glancing to the paper with the group forming information as he spoke, "I'm in the... Intermediate... group for rapper, so we just need a... beginner... for singing and dancing. And Intermediate dancer." He paused, "Or one of us will be the main dancer?"

Anya read over the paper and looked around, trying to figure out who could be in her group. She didn't want to assume Seojin would want to be in a group with her, but she really hoped so. She smiled as Seojin was the first to ask about it though, "Yes!" She chirped, punctuated with a quick nod. "You helped a lot of beginner trainees yesterday, are there people you are thinking of for our other group members?" She asked, feeling liked she phrased it strangely but hoping she still got the point across.

Tai was relieved when Felix agreed to work with him. At the older boy's question, he called over two of the younger trainees who'd been coming to him for help, both of them Korean from Korea, but at least they were in between him and Felix in age. One of them was a beginner vocal and intermediate dancer, and the other one was the other way around, but both of them hadn't been terribly bothered when Tai had managed to mess up honorifics, just laughing about it a little bit and helping him remember for some of the older trainees. He felt like no one who was a beginner in both seemed like a better balanced group, and he could help with dance.
As they approached, he asked Felix quietly, "Does that seem like a good group?"
Once they had convened, he looked around at the other three and asked, "We're supposed to come up with possible songs to do. Any thoughts?"
He looked at the two trainees with the lower levels, wanting especially to see if they had thoughts, since the configuration that he'd picked out meant that they would probably have the most pressure on the dance front. They could pick out a simple rap song, so that Felix wouldn't be too pushed on that front.
There was a moment where he suddenly realized that he'd probably just accidentally made himself the leader of their temporary grouping, and he hoped that this wasn't a stupid decision.

Seojin wondered if by doing this, arranging a strong group that she knew she could work well with, she was potentially setting herself up for more leadership positions later. She didn't mind the idea, and she'd liked helping the other so far. There was a girl who she'd seen Anya talking with who was an intermediate dancer and vocal, and she called her over, before then waving over a girl who was an advanced rapper and a beginning dancer, and a girl who was an intermediate dancer and beginning vocal. She thought that it would make for a pretty decent line up of five.
As they were convening, she looked the three over for a moment and asked Anya quietly in English, "Look good to you?"
She wasn't the oldest in the little grouping, but it was close. She was same year as the rapper who had only just started learning dance. The other two spanned the age gap between her and Anya pretty well though. She thought for just a second that they looked like a debutable group standing together, and she hoped that that would make an impression. She also realized that while the three other people who she called over were all fully Korean, two of the three were also from abroad, and she might have accidentally been collecting the people with weaker Korean.
She looked everyone over, and asked, "Does anyone have thoughts on groups that they'd like to cover?"

Anya looked over the group, waving hi to the friend she had made previously, and nodded to Seojin. "I like it," she told the older girl in Korean. She chewed her lip as she tried to let others suggest songs to perform, but she scrunched up her face as one suggested Sistar - not that she didn't like the band, but she really wasn't comfortable doing sexy dances yet, and she had a feeling it would just come off as awkward. Another suggest Blackpink, which she wasn't against, but felt like their songs with choreography might be too rap-heavy since it was from YG. "I don't remember their name..." She began in Korean, then switched to English, "but didn't JYP just debut a new girl group? I can't remember the song name either but I remember it was catchy..." and not too sexy. She added mentally.
