((Admin Note: The site's location has changed since this thread!!))Kangwan twirled his pencil as he waited for class to start. His dad worked early, so he always ended up at school early, unless he wanted to wake up much earlier to get to school on time via walking. With the supposedly uncharacteristically cold California winter, he'd been going into his first period class as soon as the doors opened. At this point, with about fifteen minutes before class would start, he was bored. He was watching his band's newest MV, only realized they'd released one after he had been sent the dance practice. He felt a bit of a pang in his chest watching them. He only realized just how much he missed them, essentially his second family, when he was watching videos. Though watching old videos he actually participated in hurt more. He was so much happier then. He sat up in his seat and wiped his face, though he didn't actually cry for once. A couple more students started trickling in, and he put his headphones and phone back in his pocket. He leaned over his desk, head on his open notebook. He was already tired and the school day hadn't even technically started yet. Hopefully it wouldn't be a completely boring day. Tags: Elizabet Sarangerel Ganbold

Liz had gotten to the rink that morning at 6 am, which was neither her nor Sungyong's favorite time of day to be places, but she needed the practice in around school with Junior Worlds coming up. It was the first big competition she'd be able to represent Mongolia at, and she had the qualifying scores. She'd sat out a fair chunk of the season of international competition due to the waiting period for switching federations, but it was definitely worth it. She was a little nervous for missing the whole week of school for Junior Worlds, and the fact that it was her first big competition abroad. She'd been to a few Canadian competitions, but that wasn't the same level of travel.
She managed to be a little bit early to class, and she scanned for a spot to sit that wouldn't be too stressful. Most of her math class was juniors and seniors, with the occasional sophomore, but she was the lone freshman, and she spent a lot of time feeling tiny. She'd been in math classes in middle school with one of the sophomore girls, but she didn't know her well enough to feel comfortable just walking up to her, and she hung out with a lot of the athletes she was on teams with from the upper grades.
There was one other person in the class who wasn't significantly taller than her though, and while she was pretty sure he was a senior, he seemed not to really hang out with the other people in the class all that much, so she felt like it wouldn't be that stressful to go snag a seat next to him. She put down her things carefully, earbuds still in her ears. Sungyong was trying to get her to pick out music for the next season, so she'd been listening to the playlist that he'd made off and on. It was a slightly whiplash inducing mixture of pop music, broadway, and classical. It was on a Korean pop song then, one that she was pretty sure was written by one of Sungyong's best friends, and she quite liked it.
She managed to drop her phone as the headphones got tangled in her skate bag strap, and it clattered across the floor, apparently unharmed, to land under the boy's seat. She smiled at him awkwardly and said in a small voice, "Um, my phone?"

Kangwan had put his head back on the desk as he waited for the class to fill up. He was mindlessly staring, watching as someone chose to sit next to him. He only knew her as the only classmate he was actually taller than, but she seemed nice from what he could tell, if not quiet and rather studious. He got startled as she dropped her phone, only after she asked realizing it had gone under his desk. He quickly moved to pick it up in a rather ungraceful manner. "Oh, yeah, sorry. Here you go." He said just as quickly, holding the phone out to her with both hands.

Liz managed to nearly drop the phone again trying to take it back, and she squeaked a small voiced apology as the screen brightened when she touched it, making the album art more visible. She scrambled to get it turned off and put away for class and to start organizing her things. She hoped that she hadn't been too awkward or strange, but she really had no idea what to say to her classmate.
She stared at her books for a second, and the realized that she hadn't thanked him, so she turned to him shyly and said, "Thanks for getting my phone for me," before looking quickly back down at her things.

Kangwan fumbled to make sure the phone wouldn't drop again when she almost lost it, and his eyes caught only a glimpse of album art. "What are you listening to?" He asked curiously, figuring if he could make any kind of small talk, it would be over music. His eyes drifted to the clock, more out of habit, seeing they still had about ten minutes left to chat.

Liz was about to reply to Kangwan, when she looked at the screen and realized that this was one of the songs that Sungyong had given her where the group name and title were all in hangul. She sighed and showed him the screen, saying, "It's a song that my figure skating coach put on the playlist of things for me to decide on for music for next season's programs."
She started getting her stuff set up on her desk, and glanced over at him a few times, clearly a little tentative. She wasn't used to upperclassmen talking to her.
[[Note: She's listening to a song by Kangwan's group. She doesn't know that. She kind of knows that it was a song written by one of her coach's friends though.]]

Kangwan chuckled, pointing to himself in the album picture. "That is me." He said simply. He wondered if she'd even believe him, he'd never straight out outed himself as an idol to anyone in the U.S. As time went by, he even had less and less interactions with international fans. It saddened him a bit, to be honest, but he felt that just meant he'd be okay when he went back and rejoined the group.
He quirked his head, "You ice skate? Do you do competitions or something?"

She blinked at him a few times, clearly confused, and then said, "Oh, you're the one who babysits Tai. I didn't make the connection that this was that group. Coach Sungyong's mentioned you, and that his friend, Hwangjung wrote a song for your group, and Tai thinks you're cool."
She bit her lip, realizing that she'd been babbling a bit, and then realized that he'd asked her a question. She nodded shyly and said, "Yeah, I'm a competitive skater. I'm going to be going to Junior Worlds representing Mongolia. It's in just a few weeks."
She looked down shyly, settling herself into her desk, and smiled at him tentatively. At least he hopefully wouldn't think that she was being weird or bragging since he'd just pointed out that he was famous.
