The Mun family lives in a fairly small four bedroom house that was originally three bedrooms. Shortly after Aibek was born, they remodeled the house to split the downstairs master bedroom into two small bedrooms. There is still quite a bit of bedroom sharing among the kids (there are eight kids, this is to be expected). The yard of the house isn't terribly big, but they do live right near a park, and most of the kids make good use of that. It's definitely a house that was the right size when it was just the parents and Timur and Inkar, and still ok after Aiday was born, and was starting to get a bit small after Aibek was born, but the family just sort of kept growing. At this point, they are pretty settled, and at some point Timur will probably move out, and Inkar will go away to college in the not too distant future, and then the house will be getting closer to being the right size (granted, if Inkar stays at home for college, that will make this process last longer).
The main floor is about like this:
Originally, Timur had one of the upstairs bedrooms, but after the downstairs master bedroom was split into two rooms and an extra bathroom was added to the house, he got one of the downstairs bedrooms (he was about 15 at the time). He didn't spend a ton of time at home though, and Inkar had called dibs on his room if he moved out before she left for college. When he moved out during her senior year, before she made decisions about college and before the twins were born, Inkar took over his room immediately. She's still getting the hang of having a room to herself for the first time in her life. Fortunately for her, Timur left his old bed and desk, and she was able to get her dad to lower the shelves in his closet so they weren't absurdly too high up for her. The twins, once they were born, had their nursery area set up in the far corner of the area labeled Dining from the stairs. There's a thick curtain up around it to help keep the kids from disturbing their nap time. The garage (where it says deck) is used more as a storage space than an actual garage, since their parents' car is usually in the driveway instead (their mom walks to work, so their parents share a car, but it's more heavily used by their dad). Inkar has her driver's license now, but she doesn't have a car of her own, and she isn't too interested in getting one.
The upstairs is something like this:
Both rooms upstairs are laid out pretty similarly, a set of bunk beds against each side wall, with bookshelves, desks, and play areas spanning the space between. (All left and right is from the perspective of looking at the floor plan above.) Anara (bottom bunk) now has the bunk bed on the left side of the girls' room to herself though she used to share with Inkar (bottom room on the floorplan above), and Aiday (top bunk) and Inzhu (bottom bunk) share the one on the left. Aiday has had a desk in the room for a while, but since Inkar switched to using the one that Timur left in his old room, Inzhu has started using the one that use to be Inkar's, but Anara doesn't need a desk yet. Inkar's former desk is right under the window, and there is a bookshelf to the left of it. Aiday's desk is to the right of it. Anara's play area, including a bookshelf, is in the upper left corner of the room, and Inzhu's is in the upper right, though she's been using it less now that she's in middle school. The middle of the room is sort of shared territory, filled with several beanbag chairs (technically each of the girls has their own, but it's kind of first come first serve, Inkar did take the one that was technically hers down to the room downstairs once she took it over though). Each girl also has her own dresser at the foot or head of the bunk bed she sleeps in, and the closet in the room is mainly only used for special clothes and other sorts of storage.
The boys' room (top room on the floorplan) is laid out similarly, but while there are bunk beds on either side of the room, Aibek has the left one to himself. The right one is shared by Erasyl (top bunk) and Serik (bottom bunk). Aibek is the only one to have a desk so far. It is under their window, and he has a little bookshelf by it, but they do have a bean bag chair each as well. Each boy also has a dresser at the foot or head of his bunk bed, and the closet is mainly used for special clothes and storage.
