Z squeaked a bit in excitement as he heard chocolate martinis existed in this bar. He sat up straighter, clapping his hands a moment before resting his lips against them. He smiled at the display being put on, clapping for Hwangjung as the other man performed tricks, letting out a "wow" as the drink was finally presented to him. He finished up his food with his new drink, trying to keep himself from even getting buzzed.
Eventually, he finished up everything, scooting it aside and returning to his notebook. He still had no poem ideas, and he made a face and tore out the paper he had been using after realizing how many times he'd written "HwangJung+Jiuk" in both English and Korean.
He hadn't even been paying attention to the time when Hwangjung reappeared, though he did know he spent probably far too long watching Hwangjung working rather than doing anything pertaining to his notebook, so he was a bit surprised to find out just how long he had been left alone after glancing at the time. "Oh, no, it's fine. I know your working. I'm enjoying myself. You guys have cake?" He felt like he answered in all the wrong order, laughing a little at the realization.

Hwangjung smiled at him and reached out to touch his hand lightly again, "I'm glad that you haven't been too bored. I know that bars aren't always the most interesting of places without conversation."
He smiled at Jiuk's reaction to the possibility of cake, and he replied, "We do have cake, three kinds: raspberry, chocolate, and tiramisu. Would you like some?"
After a quick pause he added, "Kitchen close usually means that most patrons order a last round of drinks as well, and then they start heading out, so it should get really quiet in here in the next fifteen or so minutes. So I should be able to keep you company pretty well for the last bit of my shift, though I will probably duck into the back and have a bit of food myself."

"It's been a bit of challenge, but I've kept myself entertained." Z told him honestly, leaving out the part where most of his entertainment had been watching the other man. He perked up a bit as Hwangjung listed the cakes, "I haven't tiramisu in a long time." He said. He hadn't been around in a bar long enough to see it close, and it had definitely calmed down since he was last paying attention to the actual customers in the bar. He smiled, "I can't wait for the beach then~" He told him coyly.

Hwangjung nodded, "I can't wait either. I'll have your slice of cake right up, and once I've got food and drinks to people, and have eaten myself, I can pretty much come hang out over here until close. See you in a bit."
He had a bounce in his step as he walked down the length of the bar, taking orders and mixing drinks and pulling beers as he went. He ducked back into the kitchen to give the orders to his boss so that he could also have a bite to eat, and while his boss started putting things together he said, "Take your break to eat, I'll get orders out."
He started to protest, but his boss said, "Kid, I'm mostly just curious to see who's got you all flustered and prettied up. I promise I will behave myself."
Hwangjung sighed, and the boss walked out carrying a tray full of food on one hand. Hwangjung sort of half watched through the window as he ate, and his boss walked down the length of the bar, putting down orders in front of people as he went. He finally got down to Jiuk, and said, "And for Jiuk, a slice of the tiramisu cake. I hope that it is delicious. I'm Red by the way, the owner. Hwangjung's been talking about you, so it's nice to see you around. Enjoy!"
He waved to Jiuk as he headed back to the kitchen, and Hwangjung hoped that the man hadn't said anything too embarrassing. He finished eating his food, barely tasting it despite the fact that it was delicious, and he headed back out, reversing his course and taking any last drink orders. He would do one last sweep right before bar close, which was about ten minutes before they shut their doors. Other than that, he figured he would just watch the bar from down by Jiuk.
A few drinks made later, he finally made his way over to where Jiuk was sitting and smiled at him before saying sheepishly, "I hope my boss wasn't too embarrassing. I'm sorry about that. Do you want anything before bar close in about five minutes?"

Z looked up when it cake came out, a bit flustered to see it wasn't Hwangjung. He felt like his cheeks heated up too much after hearing Hwangjung had been talking about him. "T-t-thank you!" He said a bit too quickly, a bit too loud. He grumbled and sunk into his chair, poking at the pretty cake before actually eating it.
He was about halfway done, enjoying the cake but more full than he originally thought, when Hwangjung rejoined him. "No thank you. I think my eyes were bigger than my stomach for even the cake." He admitted with a small laugh. He smiled softly, shaking his head. "No, I think I ended up a bit flustered though..." He laughed before glancing at Hwangjung from under his bangs. "You talk about me, hmm?" He teased lightly.

Hwangjung blushed bright red, but he nodded tentatively, trying not to look as embarrassed as he felt, "He asks me about that sort of thing sometimes. And I was in a really good mood after our last, um, date, so he heard that that had happened, and then he was asking me what I was, well, all dressed up for today. So it came up again. He's a good boss though, and his partner is cool, so it's not too embarrassing to tell him about things."
Hwangjung rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly, fingers catching and spinning a few of the strands of free hair in the back. He looked down and added, "Though apparently he doesn't mind trying to embarrass me."
Hwangjung glanced at the clock and said, "Alright, bar is about to close, I'm going to check up on people to see if there are any last drinks."
When he walked the length of the bar and back, no one was trying to stay as late as they could to get all the drinks they could, so as he was coming back, people were already starting to wander out, and there was only one other person, a regular lingering over his last beer, still at the bar by the time he made it back to Jiuk.
As he walked over to where Jiuk was standing, that man, too, stood and headed out, leaving a rather generous tip on the bar. The owner came out of the back, and waved at the two of them, starting to clear up behind people. When he got close enough to Hwangjung, he said, "You go count out your tips and then you can head out. I can handle the last of close myself tonight. You two should have fun."
Hwangjung blushed again, but nodded saying to Jiuk, "I'll be right back out OK?"
He grabbed the last few tips off the bar, and he headed into the back, hanging up his apron and checking his hair and outfit in the little mirror in the back for a moment. He counted out his tips and split them, filling out the form that Red had them use. He felt like he went through that part of close in record time, coming out the door from the back instead of through the bar area and walking up behind Jiuk before saying, "Alright, I'm ready to head out if you are."

Z smiled warmly, "He sounds like a nice boss to have. My lead is kind of like that." He admitted with a laugh. "She was the one I went to when ranting about our last date." He admitted, a bit embarrassed to say it, but figuring it might help ease Hwangjung's embarrassment.
He closed his notebook, watching as Hwangjung made his final rounds. As Hwangjung came back to him after counting his tips, he blinked a couple times, meekly holding out some money. "I don't need to pay?" He squeaked out.

Hwangjung realized that he had been so flustered by his boss's interfering that he had forgotten to close Jiuk's tab, and he grimaced and started to say, "Oh drat, I will just go back and deal with that -"
His boss interrupted him though, with a wink and a teasing tone, "No, no, go on you two, first time visit from the boyfriend on the house, you'll have to pay next time though."
Hwangjung shuffled his feet awkwardly, looking down and blushing a bit, and he murmured, "Thank you," in the direction of his boss who only laughed a little bit. Hwangjung turned back towards Jiuk, smile still slightly awkward and offered a hand, "Shall we then?"

Z stood with his card close to his chest, squeaking out a 'thank you' to the boss. He was flattered by the man's kindness, and a bit flustered as well. "Next time I'll be sure to buy a lot to make up for this tab! Thank you for your kindness!" He told the boss politely. He still wasn't used to being faced with acceptance once someone associated him with being gay. But it was nice, and Hwangjung was nice, and clearly Red was nice as well, so he figured it was something he could get used to, and this place was somewhere just enough in between a bar and somewhere he'd actually go to write, that maybe it could become a new hangout more often than his night off.
He shook it off though, smiling to Hwangjung as the taller man approached him again. He took his hand, smiling softly as he nodded, "Let's go."

Red smiled and laughed a bit and told him, "Now that's what I like to hear, come back whenever you want, order lots. Now go have fun you two."
Hwangjung smiled down a bit at his feet as he led the way out of the bar, fingers twining comfortably with Jiuk's. He murmured so that just Jiuk could hear, "And this is why I like my boss, but also find him embarrassing sometimes. Sorry about that."
He smiled as they stepped outside and asked, "Are you good with just walking down to the nearest part of the beach, or did you drive and want to go somewhere more specific?"

Z laughed lightly at Hwangjung's embarrassment. "He seems nice." He chided lightly. He could see why it would be embarrassing, though, but for now he was just appreciative and found it humorous.
He took a deep breath once they got outside, not realizing how stifled he felt in general in bars. It would take a bit of getting used to, but he'd be able to get accustomed to hanging out in Redz. He looked in the general direction of the nearest beach, it was the one he and Xavier went to the most often, because it was the easiest to get to for the two before they had cars. Time to make some new memories. He decided, tilting his head slightly. Sorry Xavier. He added mentally before speaking, "The nearest one is fine, though I did drive, so we'll have to come back at some point." He said, giving Hwangjung a soft smile.

Hwangjung nodded to the comment about Jiuk having brought his car and replied, "I'll make a note of that, maybe since I walked, I'll even beg you for a ride home if it wouldn't be too much trouble."
He smiled and led the way down towards the beach. It was quiet out, but the streets were well lit. The way towards the beach was away from the noisier bars further down the road, so it got quieter as they got closer, and Hwangjung could hear the waves. It didn't take long to get to the steps down onto the beach itself, and Hwangjung paused at the top of them, staring out at the water for a second. He let go of Jiuk's hand to sling an arm around the smaller man's shoulders and leaned towards him a bit, resting his chin lightly on Jiuk's head, and saying, "It's really pretty out tonight. Doesn't look like anyone else is here either."
He was tempted to make a joke about making out down on the beach, but he didn't want to push, and he wasn't sure entirely what he was feeling up for. He definitely wanted to see if Jiuk would be interested in a kiss or two, but he didn't want to make him uncomfortable at all.

Z nodded, "No problem." He said happily. He was a bit surprised at how comfortable he was in this moment, but it didn't bother him any, being alone with Hwangjung. Maybe it was because he was taller, or seemed like he could protect him, but something about Hwangjung was comforting. He felt his breath hitch as they arrived at the beach. The serenity of the night and the empty beach was the essence of romance to him, and he felt his cheeks warm up, especially as Hwangjung cuddled with him. "This is so beautiful..." He muttered breathlessly.
A sudden realization hit him as he realized he hadn't come to this beach since Xavier had died, he had left it untouchable, and his heart ached a bit, but he felt a bittersweet happiness the beach hadn't changed. He was oddly at peace with the realization though, and he was beginning to be convinced Samnang's joke a while back about Xavier wanting him and Hwangjung to meet was right. He leaned into Hwangjung's cuddles finally, his hands holding Hwangjung's arm lightly.

Hwangjung cautiously leaned down and placed a short kiss to Jiuk's temple and said softly, "I don't want to push for more kisses and things than you are comfortable with, so let me know if I'm going to fast or too slow with affection ok? I like to be affectionate, but I don't want to push you past where you're comfortable."
He stepped away from how they were cuddling and took Jiuk's hand again, leading the way down the stairs to the beach itself. The sand was soft under his feet as he stepped down onto it, turning towards Jiuk, a smile on his face, before asking, "Would it be OK if I kissed you?"

Z felt a bit frozen in place, despite his body warming up with blush to actually be frozen, and he blinked a couple times before nodding dimly. He snapped out of his daze when Hwangjung began leading them down towards the beach, and a calm, light smile was on his face the entire way down. He stayed a couple steps behind, admittedly liking being able to look at the other man in the eyes without having to crane his neck once they stopped again. Breathlessly, though not actually out of breath, Z nodded and told him, "It's fine. It's okay."
