Thomas told Anya, "You'll probably see quite a bit of Misuk-noona now too because there is at last a manager who isn't a guy. She's mainly going to be doing social media and PR stuff, but she's still a manager."
He knew that the rumor about her and Tai had stressed Tai out a lot too, especially when it had started after Tai had been in behind the scenes stuff for JBN as one of their choreographers. It had died down quickly, but it was good for Misuk to know about it.
Before he could say anything else, his phone buzzed twice in short succession. One was Josh, saying, "We're ready for you, but Shihyun is in a snit, be prepared, and maybe warn Misuk-ssi."
The other was a link from the CEO with the comment, "There's already an article, it's short and pretty neutral, but Misuk-ssi should be considering some news direction PR."
Thomas let out a deep breath and said, "Yuseong is ready for us, so we'll let you go back to your homework Anya."
He didn't hurry Misuk out the door, but he tried to get them moving pretty efficiently.

Anya dismissed herself from the two, though not before expressing how thankful she was to finally have a woman among management.
Misuk nodded, bidding Anya fairwell, and then followed Thomas out the door. "How are Yuseong doing with the news?" She asked.

Once they were clear of the JBN dorm, Thomas sighed and said, "Yuseong is in fact ready for us, but Josh-hyung warned me that Shihyun-ssi is in a snit about the coming out, or possibly about Taehoon-hyung and Josh-hyung being together, he didn't specify, possibly both or some other thing."
He sighed and showed her his phone screen, "But there's also already anfew articles hitting the news about it, which the CEO wants you to have ideas about handling. So far they are mostly short, bland, and factual. One of the five or so I've seen in my short scroll has mentioned the trending tag."
He hesitated and then said, "Maybe this is a dumb idea, I'm not so good at the people side of stuff, but do you think it might be helpful to find someone to have Taehoon-hyung actually give an interview to that would give a positive take?"
He thought for a second longer and said, "We need to get you access to the PR email, I'll message the CEO about that now, also in the managers group chat, and make it so that we can post the official company statement as soon as possible. Do you have ideas of what to say? I think once we talk with Yuseong, we will need to sit down and get that ready. With at least Taehoon-hyung and Josh-hyung."
He sent the messages quickly, and an almost immediate response popped up from the CEO, "She should have information for accessing her company account in her email momentarily." He said, "Oh, check your email on the accounts thing."
He waited when they were around the corner from the door and said, "Any questions or thoughts you don't want them to hear before we go in?"

Misuk looked over the articles and thought over who might be good to cover this sort of story. She was quiet for a bit as she thought, tapping her chin absently as she tried to think of who would be good. "Oh! I think I know a good news outlet to grant an official interview." There was one news company that was usually sensitive about handling relationships from idols in the past, and this was something similar enough she thought they'd do well. When they were the first to release a proper article, she noticed a lot of fans tended to take the news better, and there was less backlash.
She pulled out her phone and checked her email, seeing the information to access her new company account. She quickly signed in to those to make sure she had access, and could write the company statement as soon as possible. By that time, they were at the Yuseong dorm door. She took a deep breath, "I don't think so. I've been turning over what I'm going to write for the statement, but I think being able to honestly say if he has support from his band is an important step. I'm worried about what I'll hear, as I don't want anyone to hurt or be against Taehoon-oppa, but I think I can spin it even if Shihyun-sshi is a jerk about it." She told Thomas.

Thomas knocked and waited for Josh to let them in, not just letting himself in the way he had with Anya. He could just let himself into the Yuseong dorm, but now did not seem like the time.
He was relieved that Josh was pretty quick getting to the door. Josh made a face that conveyed stress, relief, and a whole mess of other emotions towards Thomas, and then a more professional smile towards Misuk. He said, "We're all in the living room. Come on in, we'll sit down and talk plans, and you can introduce Misuk-ssi to everyone."
Thomas led the way in, slipping his shoes off in the entryway, and took in the scene. Qiwang was sitting at the dining room table, school books abandoned in front of him. He gave Thomas a confused little smile, and glanced at his books, clearly wishing he could just get back to them. Shihyun was sitting moodily in one of the armchairs, decidedly not looking at any of them. Josh and Taehoon had taken over the smaller couche, and Thomas noticed the way their hands immediately linked again when Josh returned to his spot. Thomas took the spot next to Kangwan, leaving the far end of the couch free for Misuk and curled an arm around Kangwan to whisper to him for a second, "Misuk-noona knows about us now, I'd have rather told her together, but she had enough info that I just sort of had to confirm it. I'm sorry."
He gave Misuk a moment to take in the scene and said, "Everyone, this is Kim Misuk, she was just hired for the PR and Social Media Manager position that we've been trying to hire for a while, and specifically her first job is managing the PR around this situation. The CEO wants all of you to cooperate with Misuk-noona to make the best of this situation, and we're here for you to meet her properly, and ask any questions and help figure out your best role in the situation."
Qiwang sighed from the table, "Hi Misuk-ssi. I don't know why this is as big a deal here as it is, and this assignment isn't going to finish itself. Just tell me what I need to say to support Taehoon-hyung, and I'll post it. But until you need something from me, I'm going to do my homework."

Kangwan let Thomas cuddle with him, at first a bit confused since there was someone else here, but he relaxed when Thomas explained. "It's okay, I understand." He said. He had heard about Misuk, so he trusted Thomas' judgment with what she knew.
Misuk bowed and said "nice to meet you" to the three members she hadn't yet met outside of fan settings, noticing Shihyun seemed quite upset. She sat across the table from Qiwang, giving him a smile, "Hi Qiwang-sshi. I'd like to get some quotes from all of you, preferably to show you all support Taehoon-sshi." She was directing the last part to Shihyun, glancing over to him, but he didn't react.
"Then you can say I'm fine with it, and I hold my stance that I don't know why it's as big a deal here as it is." Qiwang replied, only waiting a beat before adding, "Can I do my assignment now?"
Misuk typed that into her notes and nodded, "yes, thank you, Qiwang-sshi."
He didn't wait for any other comments, putting his headphones back over his ears.
Misuk looked to the others, giving Kangwan a smile. "How about you, Kangwan?"
Kangwan didn't hesitate either, smiling as he said, "Of course, I support Taehoonie hyung, always."
Misuk wrote that down and looked between Joshua and Shihyun. "Shihyun-sshi...?" She asked hesitantly.
"Why would I be happy about it?" Shihyun growled, causing Misuk to flinch a bit. "I'm not going to quit or anything, if that's what you want. This isn't going to break up the band." He seemed done talking after that, turning away and pulling out his ear buds.
Misuk wrote it down, but maybe wouldn't use a quote from Shihyun.
Finally, she looked to Joshua and Taehoon, "I'd like a statement from Joshua-sshi as well, and if you or Thomas wanted to add anything else." She was pretty close to having a completed idea of what she wanted to write, and then once she could send that to the CEO, she'd also ask about the trustworthy news site.

Thomas sighed, wishing he could be more surprised that Shihyun was being an ass, but he hesitated over what he could do as a manager as damage control. He didn't really have real authority as a manager in Shihyun's eyes, which made sense, but wasn't helpful right then. Before he could figure it out, Taehoon stepped in though.
Taehoon's voice had a stern, scolding edge as he told Shihyun, "Be polite to Misuk-ssi, this situation is in no way her fault. I'm not asking you to be happy about it, none of us are thrilled, that's not how I wanted to come out, but I also couldn't not say something. I hadn't even talked with my sister about it for fucks sake. And I know you're miffed I hadn't told you yet, but I had perfectly good reason to believe you already knew I wasn't straight, and Josh-hyung and I have been telling people slowly. Again, I hadn't told my sister until I was on the way home from the radio show."
He took a steadying breath and said, "So get your shit together, apologize to Misuk-ssi, tell her something bland and supportive, and go take a breather. We can talk more later."
Shihyun visibly deflated, and gave Taehoon a look like a sad puppy, then turned to Misuk and said, visibly awkward, "Uh, sorry, look this is weird. But yeah, of course I support all the members of Yuseong and Taehoon and I want us to be able to keep being Yuseong together for a long time. Taehoon's my best friend."
He stood up abruptly and went to his room, not before shooting a glare at Josh, still clearly bristling a little. Thomas had always been stunned at how well Taehoon handled Shihyun, and fascinatingly, it looked like Shihyun was mostly mad at Josh and the situstion, and only a little at Taehoon. Which did track, but man, he was looking forward to being able to chat with Misuk about this entire situation now.
Josh told Misuk thoughtfully, "For a statement, we can tweak this if you want something else in there, but maybe, Taehoon is one of my dearest friends and an important member, and as his friend and Yuseong's leader I support him wholeheartedly, and I hope that fans and the public can also support him."
Taehoon squeezed Josh's hand, giving him a little smile and told Misuk, "I have been turning over what to say to fans as well. I'm guessing you're going to want each of us to post something individually once the company statement is out? I think for me, I'd want to say something like, I sincerely wish that I had been able to tell my fans my sexuality in a less sudden and abrupt way, but I've always believed in standing up for what is right, and I did not want any young queer fans listening to think they were alone or that those kinds of words directed to them were acceptable. I'm proud of who I am, and that includes my sexuality, but that doesn't mean that I should not have had the chance to keep it private as long as I chose to. I don't regret letting people know, and I hope that this is a hopeful moment for any young queer people who were listening."

Misuk wrote down the alternate version of what Shihyun said, just giving him a nod to acknowledge his apology. She let him leave, looking a little unsettled but otherwise unaffected by Shihyun's tantrum. She returned to a neutral facial expression and took down Joshua's and Taehoon's responses. "Okay, I can work with this, thank you both." She said, giving them a genuine smile. She wondered how long it would take for her to be used to being this close to Yuseong in a non-fan setting, but she could also put aside her fangirling for work, which is probably part of the reason Thomas even recommended her for this job in the first place. It did feel a little different since it was Taehoon, her actual bias, versus Qiwang, who she liked as part of the group but wouldn't call herself a fan specifically of him.
She refocused and looked to Thomas. "I'm sorry to potentially have to drag you away from your boyfriend, but do you have a computer I can use to write the statement. My autocorrect hates me and I want to make a good impression for the CEO."

Thomas gave Kangwan a quick kiss to the side of the head and stood up, telling Misuk, "Yeah, there's a sort of coworking office for the managers. There's a computer there and some of the company tablets which have keyboards at least. No one should be there right now."
He lead the way down to the office space on the first floor. On their way, he said, "What did you think of your first behind the scenes of Yuseong? I'm sorry Shihyun-ssi was being like that."

"Oh, cool." Misuk replied, trying to stop from saying how cute Thomas and Kangwan were together. She followed Thomas, thinking for a moment before she spoke. "I think a lot of what we see from them is genuine, but Shihyun really puts on an act. I know he wasn't upset with me, and it surprised me, but I know I'm not the one he's upset with. It still feels unreal to be 'behind-the-scenes' as you put it; before today the only interactions I'd ever had were specifically fan interactions, and it's weird for that to suddenly be different."

Thomas sighed and said, "He does and he doesn't put on an act. All of them have the face they put on for the camera, and for all that Shihyun-ssi and I don't get along, from what Taehoon-hyung and Kangwan say, the Shihyun-ssi you see as a fan does match a fair amount of his actual personality. You didn't see his best tonight."
He thought about it for a bit and said, "I feel like you might end up interacting with him more than I do honestly. I pretty much never drive for him, and I never manage solo for him. Mostly I solo manage for Taehoon-hyung and Josh-hyung, and for the boys. The girls don't have a lot of solo schedules yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if either of us get roped in for their solo schedules. I'm specifically not given Kangwan's solo schedules for privacy reasons, though being an official manager does really help flying under the radar when we are able to go out together from time to time."
He asked, "What are you going to say on your personal social media anyhow? I know you've got to deal with that and get social media statements drafted. Should I ask the CEO about having Taehoon-hyung go tell JBN and the boys so that they aren't in the dark and we can figure out a JBN statement too? At least they don't have personal social media accounts yet, so it's just the main company account. And I figure that a lot of the work of showing support and that it's not a big deal is them just continuing to do things with Taehoon-hyung."

"That's fair. He seemed to take the news harder than the others." Misuk wondered for a moment if there had been something between Shihyun and Taehoon. They used to be so close, and then there was the sudden switch to Taehoon and Josh being closer.
She sighed, "I hope if we end up interacting more, we can be civil." She said simply.
She frowned as she was reminded she'd have to leave her social media accounts. "I don't know for sure yet, I'll probably work on that tonight at home. I want to give a proper goodbye to everyone though, and I still need to transfer the admin account for the forum to my friend, so I need to talk with her." She thought a moment and then nodded, "definitely ask the CEO about having Taehoon-oppa going to tell JBN and the trainees, mostly so they aren't surprised. A statement from JBN might be good to put on their main company account, I don't think I'll need it to write the company statement. And, yeah, that's a great way to show the company is fine with this news." She opened her notes app on her phone. "I've got a lot of useful notes and stuff, so I think I'm feeling okay about writing this statement. At least, more than I did before I had all these notes."

Thomas sent a quick message to the CEO and management team now that everyone was looped in about getting Taehoon to go talk to JBN and the boys. He got a quick response, and he told Misuk, "I'm going to leave you here with the computer. I'll be back to check on you in a bit, but the CEO just gave me the OK to get Taehoon to talk to the others, and I just realized I still have his phone, so I'm going to go set that up."
He paused at the door and turned to look at her, "Need anything before I vanish? There's a bathroom just down the hall and the sign is visible from the door. There's a coffee machine hidden over in the corner of this room over there, I've never used it, but it theoretically works. And like you have my phone number if you need me to come back quickly. I shouldn't be too long though. And that can give you a chance if you need to talk to someone on the phone or something."
He headed towards the Yuseong dorms, messaging Josh what was up on the way so that Taehoon, and probably Josh considering how much they'd been clinging, would be ready for him.

"I'm fine, thanks. I'll see you soon." She told Thomas, turning to the computer. She opened up a new document and worked on the company statement, easily finding the layout for the official company paperwork in the layout designs for new documents. She kept it simple at first, writing about the incident, and mentioned the company did not intend for this to happen, but would continue supporting Taehoon and there would no penalties toward him. That the company expected the same from fans. That his band mates supported him, using the quotes she got from the individual band members. At the end, she added that fans could and should show their support for Taehoon. It ended up being a long statement, but she thought it was a good first draft.
When she sent it to the CEO, she didn't expect to just receive a perfect! I'll post this one and then send you the information so you can post any further statements. back. She saved the statement to her work email, and logged out of the computer. She texted Thomas, I finished the statement, I'm going to work on the statement for my fan sites at home. I'll see you later. Thanks for the job. :)
She packed up her things and headed home, letting out a sigh. She didn't wake up this morning thinking the day would become such a whirlwind of emotions and events. She said hello to her family as she got in, and went to her bedroom. She'd been thinking about what to write all day, and had texted her best friend about taking over the site on the way home. She had agreed, wanting to know why, and Misuk wanted to tell someone what happened, so she swore her friend to secrecy and told her. She logged in to the admin account, and wrote a letter in the important messages board, telling everyone how she would have to leave the fandom space, and how she would miss them dearly. She encouraged them to keep contact, and added her Kakaotalk ID. She promised them they'd recognize her elsewhere, to just keep an eye on Yuseong and the other Dreams Entertainment groups, but that she couldn't say much more than that, and then signed it with her username for the last time. She hesitated, her mouse hovering over the send button. She realized she was crying. She didn't normally cry. Today was a lot. Goodbye, Mini-mimi. I won't be able to use you anymore.
