Yingxi took a minute trying to think of how to explain the half of their major that Julin was less familiar with. Eventually, they said, "It's a kind of broad category major, but it allows for a mix of language studies and cultural classes and history and like world politics stuff. I'm interested in the diaspora studies parts and how it ties into the other major, and maybe down the line getting into working with groups that support immigrants and refugees."
Yingxi wasn't entirely sure what they wanted to do yet. It was one of the times they felt especially seventeen. They asked, "What do you plan on doing with your major? We're in related fields, so I always like to hear about possibilities, though if I wanted to go into social work specifically, I'd have to get a masters."
