Probably Should Be Friends (Theo)

Sungyong definitely wasn't used to the changes that had come in the past few years yet. It felt like he should have gotten the hang of living with Theo by now. He definitely approved of how Theo treated Yunjin, and he was glad that the other man hadn't created weird tension between him and his best friend. Sungyong didn't make friends the most easily though, and he and Theo had remained resolutely awkward with each other. It was especially frustrating because for all that he and Jiuk weren't close, he was comfortable around Hwangjung's boyfriend these days, having enough in common and enough friend bonds in common that they could handle being in the same social settings without that weird awkwardness rearing between them. Hell, he probably even could have gone and done something with just Jiuk and been fine if it was something that they were both interested in.
That weekend, it was just the two of them at the house though. Yunjin was one of the chaperones for an overnight trip for the high school that spanned the weekend, and Teagan was away at one of his out of town trainings for the trades program he was in. And of course Thomas and Tai were even further away. Sungyong could have retreated to the ice rink or to Hwangjung and Jiuk's place, or even just stayed downstairs, but he felt like maybe this was a good time to make an effort, especially since he was likely to be living with Theo for a long time at this point.
He was generally up earlier than Theo, and he did know the other man's food preferences reasonably well at this point, so Sungyong made a point of getting up and settling into the kitchen preparing something that was in the overlap of their tastes and making sure that there was enough for both of them. If he misjudged the leftovers could always go in the fridge for later. He didn't know quite what he wanted to say, but Theo and Yunjin were officially engaged now, and he felt like he actually needed to do something about the awkwardness that had calcified between them. He'd thought about asking Hwangjung for advice on it, but last time they'd talked about it, Hwangjung had advised giving it more time, that had worked with Sungyong and Jiuk, but Sungyong was starting to suspect that it wasn't going to be the solution with him and Theo. He'd even thought about asking Thomas what he though, because he did talk to the Fan brother who didn't live in the house anymore from time to time, but it had just seemed to strange and awkward, though he'd definitely consider it if he couldn't work it out himself. He didn't want to burden Yunjin with the awkwardness.
