Nikkie looked over the house listing appraisingly. It was a two bedroom one bath house with a nice kitchen and a laundry room in the decently sized unfinished basement, where a bathroom was already plumbed for. The price was right, and the size was right including size to expand, and there was even a nice little garden that Nikkie wanted to take care of. It wasn't having an open house that day, but it did have available bookings to view it. She thought about the timing, and booked one for two hours later, figuring that was enough time to get Nick up and fed and moving. She smiled to herself as she tossed on clothes that made her look professional, work clothes basically, and headed to the basement to collect her twin so that she could get them out of the house.
She found Nick still asleep, which she was relatively grateful for, and went over and shook him lightly, saying, "Nick, wake up, we're going to go look at a house."
She figured that she'd probably have to explain what was going on to him again in a few minutes, once he was actually awake, but she was excited.

Nick was slow to react, he was never was good at waking up, and Nikkie had this tendency to wake up far too early for his liking. He furrowed his eyebrows and curled deeper into his blanket before muttering, "look at house?" He didn't have the money to actually consider buying a house. He wouldn't be able to help Nikkie in the least. At least, not for a theoretical while - he had been working hard to stop drinking, though he wasn't completely sober quite yet, and had been talking with a couple tattoo shops that were willing to take on apprentices. But he needed to buy his own tattoo kit, which would take away any savings he had at the moment. How could he think about buying a house?
He decided to bring it up with Nikkie on the way or something, and opened his eyes, forcing himself to sit up. "We're doing what?" He asked with a croak.

Nikkie ruffled her brother's already disheveled hair once he sat up and said, "We're going to look at a house. I made a viewing appointment, and you've got about an hour and a half to get ready at this point."
She pulled the listing up on her phone and held it out for him to look at. She said, "It seems like it would suit us and have room for us to make changes over time, plus it's not that far away."
They'd talked about the idea a little bit, moving out just the two of them, and it wasn't like Nikkie couldn't afford to put down the down payment on a house, with splitting the rent between all the siblings, even if she was paying her and Nick's shares, she'd been doing pretty well saving up money.
She asked him, "What do you think of it?"

Nick blinked a bit as he looked at the screen, trying to get the sleep out of his eyes, and looked over the house. He had to admit, it was pretty impressive. "That's uhm... That's a nice house." He grumbled. He liked that the basement had unfinished potential, it left room for, say, an art studio, or office space for Nikkie. But voicing that at the moment was hard. He handed the phone back to his twin and let out a sigh as he ran his hands through his hair. "Uhh yeah. I can get ready in that time. How uh... How should I dress?" He asked. He had never even considered the possibility of owning a home, so he never looked up things such as "appearance when looking for a house."

Nikkie chuckled at how disgruntled her twin seemed. She ruffled his already mussed hair and said, "Yup, I liked it too. I think that it would be well within what I can afford to pay towards, and would suit us well with the potential to expand the living space, but perfectly livable as it is."
She thought about his question and how to answer it. She finally replied, "I mean, the most important part is having clothes on. Aim for no stains and no holes, or if there are holes like fashion holes. But like jeans and a tshirt would be fine. Think that you can do that? I can poke through your closet if you need me to."
She contemplated Nick's level of awakeness to decide if she needed to encourage him out of bed any further.

Nick nodded, and he noticed her examining him, so he began stretching before standing up finally, not bothering to fix the hair Nikkie messed up. "Okay, I'll go shower and put on clothes without holes or stains." He said, trying to be sarcastic about but his voice was just raspy from sleep. "The shower will wake me up, but some coffee wouldn't hurt either," He said, giving her a wink.
He didn't wait for an answer, figuring there was either some already made or Nikkie would be happy to stop by Starbucks or something, and went into the bathroom and took a quick shower. He pulled his hair back into a ponytail, which wasn't something he did often, but figured it helped him look more professional. He then went to his closet and picked out a nice dark green v-neck shirt that honestly was probably Damion's, but it fit him so he didn't care, and some nice jeans that didn't look too worn yet. After washing up, he went up to find Nikkie, hoping to not run into any of the other siblings in the process. If he had to guess, they were all probably working or out doing whatever.

She watched Nick head into the bathroom and once the shower was running, she headed upstairs and got some coffee and food ready for him. She figured that even if it was earlier than needed, she'd rather get them out of the house sooner rather than later, knowing that there were fewer chances for Nick to sabotage himself once they were out of the house. She glanced at her watch as she finished putting the coffee in a thermos and the food on a plate, figuring that they weren't in nearly enough of a hurry to make him eat while they were going.
She tried her best to time getting everything on the table, including a small serving and some orange juice for herself, to when the shower noises finished, and she called down the stairs to Nick, "I've got food and coffee for you once you're dressed and ready."

"You're awesome." He called back to Nikkie, sorting through his closet and finding a pair of jeans he didn't wear often, so they still looked new, and a nice v-neck t-shirt. He washed up and examined his appearance in the mirror, a bit surprised. It had been a long time since he looked so... presentable. He pulled his hair into a ponytail and went upstairs, fixing up the coffee to his liking. "Wow, the food looks good." He praised his twin. He ate the food quickly and put the dish in the sink, rinsing it. "Shall we go?"
