Seoji had adapted to living in the dorms pretty quickly. It helped that he took quick showers, and that Tai appeared to have decided that he was just going to use the training room showers sometime in the first week or so. Honestly, it was a way nicer apartment than the tiny one near SOPA that he'd been living in for the start of high school, even if he had to share it with three other people. None of the people he'd worked with a lot in the training camp had also been accepted, and Seoji was honestly a little bit intimidated by Tai, though the kid seemed nice. He was just good, at everything.
Felix on the other hand, Seoji had been seeing a lot of because despite Felix being born the year ahead of him, they were classmates at SOPA. Since they were in different majors (Seoji's was Practical Music, with a vocals focus), they didn't see each other constantly at school, but they had their core classes together. This also meant that he had someone to do his commute to and from school with.
Seoji was a relatively early riser, so he'd gotten up after Tai but before the others as far as he could tell, showered quickly, and had some of the rice that Tai had left in the rice cooker for breakfast. He had carefully packed his school bag the night before, and he was already in his uniform. It was a little bit until he needed to leave for school, but he was watching for Felix to be ready because he generally liked getting there early. More than that though, he liked not going to school alone.

Felix seemed to be the worst at waking up so far. Taijia was religiously up early, and Seoji was already pretty good at being an early riser, and the other trainees didn't seem to have too much trouble getting ready to go to school, so it was really just him. At first he could blame it on jet lag and the time difference, but it had been too long since he moved now. He shuffled somewhat clumsily out of bed, pulling on his uniform with equally as little grace, and emerged from the room mostly dressed, buttoning his jacket as he went into the kitchen to see what kind of food was available. He dumped some rice in a bowl and finally noticed Seoji. "Oh hi," he said around a mouthful of food. "Is it time for going to school?" He asked awkwardly. A pro-con with Seoji was that speaking with the fellow trainee required using only Korean. Even when Felix did try using the limited amount of English on the other boy, it backfired, and Felix found someone that knew even less English than he did, but on the other hand, Felix's Korean had improved nearly tenfold since moving to the country only a few months ago. Still, he felt like he still had a lot to learn, and some things, such as still waking up, caused him to speak more awkward Korean than he really liked.

Seoji grinned at how cute a sleep rumpled Felix was, and when Felix asked if it was time to go, he stood up and tucked away his things, coming over and dropping an arm around his rather shorter than him hyung's shoulders, saying, "I'm ready to go as soon as you are Felix-hyung, but you should eat the rest of your rice."
He tried really hard to speak not in dialect with Felix, since he knew that Felix was struggling enough with non-dialect Korean, but he knew that he sometimes slipped up. He wondered if Felix would end up picking up some of his accent considering they were some of the ones who talked the most. That would confuse people.
He stepped away after a few moments, sort of processing what he was doing, but not touching the thought. They were friends, skinship was normal. He pouted and added, "I hope you're ready to go soon though, I've been up for a while."
They weren't in any danger of actually being late, but Seoji really preferred being a little bit early. It let him talk to people, and also meant that he had a chance to hang out with Felix for a little bit before school instead of the two of them just rushing to class.

Felix nodded, finishing up his rice as quickly as he reasonably could, rinsing out the bowl and then grabbing a juice box from the fridge and nodding to Seoji. "Okay, Let's go." He said simply. He debated giving Seoji a (playfully, mind you) snide remark about waking up early, but figured it wouldn't come out right at the moment and so instead he resorted to whining, "It's not my fault everyone wakes up so early so easily." With food in his stomach he was starting to wake up more, but still was sleepy. He pulled his shoes from the shoes closet and slipped them on before gesturing accusingly to Seoji, adding jokingly, "besides, if I don't sleep, how am I ever supposed to get taller you, you tree."

Seoji draped an arm around Felix's shoulders again after the tree comment, leaning down on his shoulder for just a moment and said, "That's OK, hyung, I'm still growing too. But you know, the CEO said that I was probably going to have to come up with a stage name eventually because my name is so similar to Seojin-noona's, well he said maybe both of us would have to come up with stage names, but I got the impression especially me, and just for that, maybe I'll try to figure out something tree themed."
He laughed a little bit and added, "Don't worry, hyung, I'll make sure that you make it to school on time even if you're running more late than today. You woke up before it seemed late enough that I needed to wake you up. Plus, having someone to catch the bus with to school makes it a lot less boring."
It also meant that Seoji didn't have to think about the English test later that day, the bane of his academic existence, or the fact that they were doing preassessments for the month for dance in training that evening, and even with Seojin-noona helping him, he was still the worst, and it wasn't looking like that was going to change.

Felix didn't follow all of Seoji's words, but he followed enough to know he was being sarcastic, and Felix made a disgruntled face at him. "Yah... don't."
He dropped his grumblings and nodded, "It does make it more fun to ride the bus together." He agreed. He stuck his hands in his pockets, looking to Seoji, still half-asleep. "Oh hey, you have a test today, right? In English? Good luck." He stated, his voice somewhat monotone despite knowing those phrases well. He had a test too, though it was in science and not English, which was still somewhat terrifying because it was science in Korean, but he still preferred that over English. At least he was functional in Korean, and after enough worksheets, homework, and quizzes, he felt confident to at the very least know what a question was asking. He couldn't say that for English.

Seoji groaned dramatically and whined continuing to cling on to Felix, knowing that he was making it a little harder for them to be ready to leave on time, "Felix-hyung, why did you have to remind me? I'm trying to not think about that test. I don't want to fail, but I've studied and studied and studied, and English just doesn't make sense."
He knew that he was being a little bit over-dramatic, but English was the one class that brought his grades down. He said, more calm and letting Felix actually finish his getting ready process, "You have a test as well though, science right? Good luck, I hope it goes well. I can quiz you on the bus if you want."
English, Science, and their major classes were classes that they didn't share, so of course that was what they had tests in, though at least for Science and English, they were covering the same material. Seoji pouted a little bit and grumbled, "Why do we even need to spend all this time on English anyhow? We've got Taijia."

He smiled through Seoji's whining, holding back a chuckle. "Yeah, I do. Thanks," Felix said simply. He finished packing up his things and nodded his head towards Seoji's bag. "Let's go." He said simply. As he slipped his shoes on, he looked to Seoji, "Honestly, if I was good at English, I would say we should practice. But I'm not good. So all I can do is wish you luck and hope you do well." He chuckled. "English is uhh.. international? the international language. World language." He said, not sure he was using the right words for what he was trying to say. "I don't like it either, but..." He began, punctuating his sentence with a shrug. "One day in the future, American fans will want you to speak to them in English. That is why now you must learn."

Seoji continued to pout and said, "But Felix-hyung, I can memorize phrases just fine. My English teacher even says I have good pronunciation. I can sing in English. I just... the word order doesn't make sense, so sentences don't make sense."
He looked over at Felix, smiling down at the older boy. It was nice having someone to go to school with.
He said, "Maybe I'll be better at a different language once we actually start having the company try to get us ready for going abroad. Tai speaks English and Mandarin, you speak Spanish, so maybe I can focus on something else, and even if I'm not that good at it, it will impress the fans because it's not something that they're used to idols knowing."
He smiled a little bit, moving on to another topic soon enough, "At least the dance teacher finally said that I was actually starting to look better during dance practice. All the extra practicing has been paying off. I can take reassurance in that."

"I guess so..." Felix muttered. "English and Spanish are similar in grammar, but I just... can't remember what I learn for some reason." He chuckled at Seoji's idea of focusing on another language. He pulled out his phone to look up a word, then commented, "Maybe you can learn an obscure language that idols don't really learn." He joked, hoping he had used the right word for 'obscure.'
He grinned, "You are! I think you will be good at dancing soon enough!" He praised. It wasn't a lie; he had noticed Seoji had been improving.

Seoji sighed again, wishing that this wasn't so much of a frustration. There was a small part of him that was happy that he'd ended up having to go to SOPA though because it meant that he had Felix as a classmate.
He said, "I still feel like I don't entirely know where my feet are when I'm dancing. Seojin-noona says it's because I keep growing, but it's still annoying."
He thought over languages for a moment longer and said, "Honestly, the company's probably going to want me to learn Japanese or something, unless they find another member who already speaks some. Part of me is like, I already have to think about it not to speak Korean in dialect anyhow. I hope that the company doesn't get mad if I end up messing up your pronunciation because of it."

Felix nodded, "Well, Seojin is right. You're still growing. And we've still got a few years before we're set for debut, so you'll have a lot of time to practice and..." He faded off, realizing he didn't know how to say "get your bearings" in Korean, but he tried anyway and just hoped Seoji would understand, "do it right." He finished meekly.
He looked up at the sky, thinking it over. "Even then, they might have all of us learn Japanese and Chinese. I hope it's not too hard, though, you know? I mean, I'm doing better with Korean than I ever did English, but I think it's because I'm using it so often."

Seoji nodded and replied, "Hopefully I finish the growing and can actually find my feet."
He was glad that the company was so close to the bus stop where they caught the bus over to SOPA. Once a bus showed up, he dragged Felix towards seats near one of the doors so that he could lean on him once they both got settled.
He told Felix, "Using it a lot is almost certainly helping. Maybe using English more would help with that, but I don't want to."
He sighed and said, "Do you want to stop at the cafe on the way back from school today? We have a little bit of a gap before our first training session."

Felix followed Seoji onto the bus and smiled at Seoji leaning on him. He thought over his words before speaking, "I'm the same. I think we should just accept we suck at English and move on. Maybe Japanese or Chinese will be kinder to us." He guessed.
He nodded, "I would like that. I'm glad we have the cafe, it has become a..." he scrunched up his face. He really needed to think through the entirety of his sentences before he said them to make sure he actually knew all the vocabulary. "home-that's-not-home." He said awkwardly.

Seoji nodded and sighed, "Maybe Japanese wouldn't be so bad. Tai's already got Chinese under control, and Spanish is your first language, so I'm the one who doesn't know another language basically at all."
He flopped his head back against the bus seat, keeping his shoulder pressed against Felix's. He said, "Yeah, having the cafe is nice, it's a little bit of normalcy that we can just go there or the convenience store in the building without having to like get permission. Having people recognize us sometimes now is weird."
It hadn't been something that he'd really thought about before auditioning, that there would be a period he would be a known trainee and be starting to have people recognize him, but still just be training and going to school. He told Felix, "Honestly, I'm glad we're at a school that has a lot of other idol trainees, and like, I've been going to SOPA since before getting into Dreams. It makes school not stressful like that at least, so that's another bit of normalcy for me, but I know not for you."
